Another Center Mid and Center Back?

What is going on at Oakwell?

Bailey, Berry, Hourihane, Pearson, Digby, Scowen.... all CMs. Why?

I hope he is that ball winning midfielder we've been waiting for, but if he is then why have we got Pearson? Is Digby going to be out in the cold again now? Just when he had a decent game too

As for a new CB - surely this means Cranie and Brown are off? Even if that is the case, Nyatanga, Ramage, M'Voto and Holgate should be plenty.

We don't have any senior fullbacks. I'm happy to see Smith, Holgate and Bree play a major part but this seems like a bit of a risk considering the amount of players we have.

As a side note, how is Phenix going to get a look in if we've just signed and played three short term loan players (plus Lalkovic)?

Are we just signing stacks of players and hoping that some come off?

I'm all for New Recruits especially permanent ones, but we need to ship out a few more Duds as was Treacy.

 

Danny couldn't miraculously rebuild the squad in three weeks of the last window. As Ben said recently, it's a four window job. We're into the second now. Along the way, we'll lose some due to failure, some perhaps will get poached by bigger fish. I dunno. But all I'm seeing is Danny building, shaping his squad in what is clearly a long term strategy, one the club should have been behind years ago.

I'm not concerned at all. There's a few more I'd ship out full time though. And a few more I'd bring in.

Lets see what happens.

So when we've paid for our season tickets by April again, is Ben going to made good on his promise and start recruiting early, or are we going to be scrabbling around for players in late July?

Expectations have been subtly and suitably lowered over the last three and a half years.

 

For all you know all our building could have started in April. Players will hold off as long as possible to get the best deal.

A central defensive midfielder is exactly what we needed - every good squad has at least 2. Pearson don't forget is only on loan.
