http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30799180 imagine passing over the chance to go to Bumhole Lane he must be mad.
Looks as though Arabian Ian was spot on when he said: "Whitey DUFC have come out and said they want GMS to fulfill his contract and have rejected all offers to date. Might just be playing hard ball but it looks like the club feel he is more valuable on the pitch to the club than any cash coming in. "
Now I'm not so sure about this mate. We now have a player who knows he going to go to a club to possibly quadrouple his wages. Will he continue to give 100% on the field and maybe risk getting injured? DUFC means nothing now. Why risk everything when he could just go through the motions till May. We are still in 2 cups. Win the L/C semi v Aberdeen and it could be Celtic in the final. What will his mindset be in that one? I know what it should be, but. And what if his form just drops. People on his back during the game. Maybe not a very good situation.
Ian, you have every reason to be uneasy about this arrangement with Celtic. It would be much better if Mackay Steven went to Celtic now. That way DU would also get a fee for him.
Yeah I'd much rather get rid now, even for a pittance. It would get rid all sorts of conspiracy situations. Like if he has a stinker when playing Celtic. Everyone asks why. A lot of pressure on him now.
I remember similar problems for Steve McManaman when it was announced in the January he'd be leaving Liverpool for Real Madrid in the Summer. Every time he played poorly, was beaten in a challenge, missed a goalscoring chance, he was accused of not giving 100% for the club/team. I think it'd be better for all parties concerned were GMS to complete the move this month.
