Wonder what he means by a would be employer (football club in UK) pulled out at the eleventh hour after a conversation with one of his recent ex managers?
Probably that some manager listened to the opinion of someone else rather than making their mind up for themselves.
He did mention the treatment he had had by his last 3 managers. As a Bobby fan I'm disappointed to hear this. The only manager to offer him a contract was D.Flitcroft but it appears the terms offered by Mansford fell short.
Just thought it was a strange comment to make especially seeing as he is supposed to be coming back for a testimonial this year. Does that mean we can rule out the current management team then?
Don't read the Chronicle anymore. But by the sounds of it, they've basically ripped off my interview. I can tell you the manager who rejected him after listening to one of our former managers is no longer managing that club, but his side beat us in their first game without him this season... And I can guarantee you that Bobby was offered his last contract against the managers wishes, the order came from above, and Flitcroft relented. Whether that's acceptable is another matter. But not playing him last season turned out well for us. **** the 80p Chron or whatever they charge now, read the only interview with Bobby that matters. For nowt.
