LOL. The only reaction I was after was the proof that would back up your silly claim that there were hundreds of posts on here from folk who didn't attend games but stated Wilson must stay. You can't post any of the links, you can't tell me the threads they're inside, and why? Because you went OTT and made summat up. It's always thus. Your little comment about Hemsworth holds no wattter, pal. I drink with the kid in Redfearn's. He's not a clown. He, like you and I is a BFC supporter with an opinion. He's unable to share his unfortunately on here, chuff knows why. I've always maintained that I'm a sarcastic twwat. I won't apologise to folk who know that before conversing with me. It's like having a chat with Gareth Gates and expecting him not to stutter. Level headed eh? Aye, and teller of tall tales.
Re: Can I just point out in the general mood of depression from some on this BBS ... Flicker should have been given more time for me, you can't sack a manager after 3 months, it's just crazy. DW has had 14 months and we've done nothing but drop and drop and drop. Where is the improvement? I'm all for building for the future but you can't go about it the way he has. It's all too much too soon for young players to handle and it will do more bad than good for them if we carry on like we are doing.
The fact you have attended so many games gives far more creedence to your views and i share your view about sacking managers. The problem I have if if its not working how long do you carry on hoping for a change in fortunes? Managers need time agreed but the question is how much time? eg We could keep Wilson for 3 years say but if another relegation occurred and after 3 years we still were poor people would say we should have got rid earlier. Its a double edged sword. I'm for stability as long as progress appears to be forthcoming. At the moment were no further forward and possibly worse off than last season
Can I just point out in the general mood of depression from some on this BBS ... Firstly Flicker was as out of his depth as you claim Wilson to be. Devoid of ideas, keeping absolute dross like Kennedy and signing more like M'Voto. There has been very little improvement on the whole but there has been some. We've got a midfielder on 12 goals for a start. The other point to note is that this is a collective decision about how to proceed as a club. And I don't see many options for older more experienced players for us....
So far after just 5 minutes of looking I've found comments from you, Marc and Mario stating that you hadn't been to the game and then later saying I still think Wilson is the man to do the job. Now I know you 3 do attend games, I don't want you thinking I'm saying you 'never attend games'. Now I know Marc sits on the fence with the whole situation but I can find more I'm amazed you can't find them actually considering I know how much you like to think you've got the upper hand.
Mate... give over now, eh? I will happily discuss things with you, but I can do without reading litlle digs, you know? Unlike you, I know bugger all about you and wouldn't profess to. I don't have an upper hand, they're both at the same height when stretched out, unless you do that trick thing up against a wall etc. Remember doing that? Mario recently got mowed down by a car on his way to the football, perhaps he didn't go due to his broken leg? Me? I chose to miss it and watch another club because I'm fickle. And Marc's just a titty.
Re: Can I just point out in the general mood of depression from some on this BBS ... Mvoto was our best player yesterday bit there you go... I can't see how having a midfielder scoring x amount of goals is making improvement? We've been relegated to league one and we aren't far off the bottom of it so that for me is a massive failure and outweighs that tiny improvement regarding hourihane. I want the same as everybody else, I want to see a team play like a team, I want positivity and I want good results along the way but we aren't getting that and it concerns me.
Re: Can I just point out in the general mood of depression from some on this BBS ... It certainly will I hope
I get all that, but you asked for examples and I've supplied a few out of many. I could keep going, but it's not going anywhere is it? That's football supporters I suppose! You have your own opinion on the matter and I have mine, it's a game of opinions and if it wasn't what would be the point in message boards? Blinded by love could be described for all parties...
Can I just point out in the general mood of depression from some on this BBS ... I'm comparing that fact to the fact that on previous seasons a goal from a midfielder was like rocking horse *****. M'Voto is awful. He might have been our best player but that says more about how poor we were.
Nahh. This is more me. Or, was.
It is a double-edged sword you are right. Statistically sacking your manager has little or no bearing on the sucess or failure as a club. Most clubs average 1.3 points per game and historically managers are sacked when performances dip below this level. What can happen in the short term is a statistically expected short term boost (in BFC terms we could call this the Flitcroft Effect) before you return to the statisical average. Sacking the tea boy or changing your tea towels would have as much impact on your clubs long trm health as sacking the manager. Where Danny should be coming under pressure when it is know is around the wage bill. The clubs with the highest wage bills should be pretty much guaranteed success (92% of all success links to how much you spend on players). So if Danny has a wage bill that is in the top 6 of the division then that is where we should be. I have no idea of the position on this ( we have spent money on players competitively however all these players are inexperiemced and would probab;ly be relatively cheap in terms of wages). pointers to where we stand on this are around Carl Baker we wanted him but couldn't afford his wages whereas MK Dons had no such problem indicating that we have comparative les in the wages budget than them. What would be helpful from th club is a firm steer on this not an appease vthe fans we will have a competitive budget which is a fudge but a real pointer to where we stand. Danny's performance would be then easier to evaluate. I would mark danny as about a 6 out of 10 if I were to do that sort of thing. He inherited a team and club in desperate straits full of journeyman pros who couldn't give a toss about the club whilst being embroiled in a deprerate and doomed fight against relegation. So he had to address short and long term problems at the same time which is a hard job in any walk of life. I think he has done part of that job well in clearing out the deadwood but obviously failed to keep us up. The recruitment strategy we have adopted is the right one but picking up players who can adopt and adapt to higher leagues is a very hard task with transfers being very hit and miss at all clubs. Secondly we had to let along with the deadwood our better players go which is counter intuitive to trying to achieve success. We now have a few players who can clearly be successful at this level and are developing our younger ploayers. some in both these camps will fail. Wilson needs the season and then we need to evaluate.
