teccy help; windows defender

    my windows defender is turned off ( cue back 4 jokes) I go into services and its on manual, so I click start it runs for 1-2 secs then says: windows defender service on local computer started and then stopped: some services stop automatically if they are not in use by anyother programs how do I turn it back on t.i.a.

    Going in to services & set it to Automatic , click apply , then reboot.

    It should start up at windows log in.

    You might be better to download it again and remove/install it. It sounds like something is corrupt in the service configuration making it stop as soon as it starts.
