Liverpool away in my lifetime, not once, not twice, but thrice.

Rochdale in 2012 and 2014 were good.

Sheff Utd in 2001 and 2011 stand out.

But Huddersfield in 2013 tops the list. Obviously.

    Sheff Utd away, Dec 1996.

Battered beforehand, mayhem during the game, battered again at night and got leg over. And 'if Hendrie turns he'll shoot'

    Oxford away, 97...

Highbury in the Prem season was special, as was Anfield and Villa Park.

    Notts County in 95...

Molineux in the promotion season. Went in my uncle's Sierra Cosworth, it had been broken into when we got back to it, and we weren't int best of moods anyway after Watson's flapping that afternoon.

    Ahhh, great days.

Spent a great day in London prior to the match. Won a terrific game playing wonderful football, after losing Gary Pierce to injury in the first few minutes. Calling off at a pub near Wembley afterwards and witnessing a couple of octogenarian locals fighting (in slow motion) over a woman.:D
Oh, and going top of the table if only for a day, before going on to clinch promotion at the end of the season.

Special mention to our trips to Anfield, away to Huddersfield in 2013 & a 7-1 win at Workington in the Spring of 1976.

Off the top of my head:-
    Liverpool 81, 97 and 08.
Sheff Weds 79, 83 (ish) and 08 for obvious reasons.
    Sheff Utd 96.
    Huddersfield 13.
Sunderland 98 was a great one too. Ashley Ward missed a pen, scored to put us 1 up and got sent of all in space of about 5 mins. We then defended for our lives, Bruce Dyer netted a second on a rare breakaway before Sunderland scored twice late on to equalise. Unbelievably, with a couple of mins left McClare got brought down in the box and Barnard coolly stroked home the pen. 40,000 mackems were stunned and 1500 or so Reds went mental.
    Happy days.

Every trip to Edgeley Park was splendid too. Result wise and beer wise.

Taking away the obvious I had a fantastic day out when we beat MK Dons in the cup under Flicker. The feel good factor that day was one of the best I've experience as a BFC supporter. Harewood rallying us at the full time was a moment I'll never forget.

I also stuck this bet on

    Birmingham two seasons ago

I was going to say Liverpool in the cup 2008 but . . .

    Birmingham September 2012 was magnificent.

Managed to convince two non-Barnsley supporting mates to go across from Nottingham as we could get in at student prices, had a few drinks in Brum beforehand and staggered to the stadium.
After enduring plenty of ribbing from the other two about how we were going to get our arses handed to us live on Sky (Birmingham were on a long unbeaten home run stretching back to the season before, we'd not won away in 8 months) we duly smashed Blues 5-0 in the most one-sided match I've ever been at. Given I'd seen us lose the previous 6 away games I'd been to without scoring, I celebrated every goal like I would a last minute winner.

We then got the train back to Notts and proceeded to get smashed that night as well.

I think what makes it special as well is that I was one of only 295 Reds who bothered to make the trip down. Thousands will have special memories of the Liverpool game(s), staying up at Huddersfield or any of our wins at Brammall Lane/Hillsborough. Even the play-off semi at Birmingham.
But only a handful in comparison will be able to say "I was there" for that 5-0 win.

It has to be Huddersfield away a couple of years ago. I'm pretty sure none of us will ever attend a game like that ever again.

The Liverpool away in the Cup a few years ago was great as well. And the 4-2 at Rotherham in the early 80s was a cracker. And I enjoyed the 4-0 play off win at Birmingham*, as the realisation we'd finally play at Wembley, just before the knocked it down, was fantastic.

*apart from the period between the full time whistle and the train pulling out of New Street station, which has to be one of my worst experiences following Barnsley. Ruddy scary and never going there again.

Sarfend when Nardiello scored to win us the game, and I think secure our 2nd tier status. Kyel Ried also scored direct from a corner. Twas red hot.

Yeovil last season was pretty good too, night in Weymouth.

Huddersfield x2, survival and even better (IMO) the play off win.

I was there in 2000 though, and got glass all over me thanks to Brummies with bricks.
