How do you feel about the comparison I made to Jacob Butterfield in this thread?

 

That's overdoing it a bit. He was a proper bell.

Very relevant, especially at the time you posted it. And as I always said back then (when Mellis was performing) I think we ably replaced Butterfield, and with a free transfer to boot. I don't think Mellis was as good, and his career since has shown that he's not, and their attitudes and professionalism are at opposite ends of the spectrum. It's a shame with Mellis. He's probably minted, for now, and probably doesn't care, but he's a very talented lad and I would like him to overcome his demons and be the player we know he can be, which, like Butterfield, is a top end Championship level performing midfielder.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Keith Hill take him on if they get promoted..
