Can you elaborate on your dislike for him? Why do you want shut, etc? And, I'm intrigued to know, what did you think of the BFC sides of 1994 through 1998? Cheers. Just find it bizarre to read folk mocking him and his previous spell, using the Brazil thing to take the piss? He's not got enough results in this second spell, granted. I think it's been quite **** in all fairness, although I'm one for seeing how it develops over the medium to long term rather than making a snap judgment based on five months of football. But yep, there's the ammo for you doubters. So why the need to refer back to the 90's etc? You're diluting your 'against' argument. Best manager we've ever had. Based on his recruitment, his results and the football served up. Stick to the present because bringing up his glorious past serves only to increase my faith in him.
Think you'll struggle. Most of the 15% weren't born. Or if they were they probably thought redfearn was overweight, marcelle too lightweight and bullock was some ***** lad danny plucked from non league. Clueless.
I'm ok with being patient with Danny, but citing results, signings and performances in the 90's as a measure of his credentials today isn't very progressive thinking. Keep danny - yes, but the performances, results and signings in 2015 are what count. Only as good as your last game or so a saying goes. Alternatively we could bring Fjortoft, Hendrie, Marcelle etc etc back to the first team.
I wasn't citing them as a measure of his current credentials. I was telling the doubters it's not helping their case to refer back to his first spell because it reinforces my faith in the bloke. Just as it does seeing Charlie Austin score in the top flight regularly.
That shouldnt come into it at all what happened 20 years ago. My opinion isnt based on him twenty years ago. Its what I have seen this season its been poor to say the least the performances the tactics the results the league position. And saturday was worst ive seen us play for a long long time. I dont want him out yet but things must improve and fast because it was embarrassing at weekend we were lucky to end up one down, against mk dons and swindon we wont be as lucky playing like that and we could be in bottom four by then.
But you're the chap who used the Brazil thing in a recent post. Just find it strange to mock that era.
I'm not In the Danny out brigade at all, I remember what he did last time and how he did it and how it made me feel. We have had to change after years of decline and stagnation, we have cleared ranks and between Danny and the board come up with a recruitment plan to sign youth lower league prospects and develop them (something Keith hill got slated for in the championship). I agree and back the recruitment plan I think it's great to see hungry young players rather than the passengers and mercenaries we are used to, not all signings will work but we have already seen glimpses of promise from winall and hourhaine. In time these two will get better hopefully with the likes of Bailey, phenix, Williams, berry etc. Now for my problem, we are signing these players and have a recruitment plan ,a philosophy an idea of how we want to work but what's our team identity? Are we going to be an attacking side that passes, moves and excites like we used to under Danny, how most of us want us to play again,to pay our money , be entertained and dare to dream again. I don't know what we are at the moment apart from a team that seems to be told to sit back , don't concede, kick it up field and see what happens. Is this because we are still in development stage or is it a case that Danny doesn't have an idea of the identity of our team? We seem clueless tactically and technically with no motivation, again is this due to having a group of young lads and no leaders or are we lacking two leaders in Danny and hutchings ? Those are my thoughts , some positives but more questions than answers
I used that because I feel some wont have a bad word said about the bloke on here. No matter what they blame everything but based on a great era for us all them years ago.
Agree with every word of that. I will never ever forget what Danny did in his first spell at our club. It was the greatest period in the club's history. Football however, has changed since then and the last thing I ever want to see is us back in the 4th tier. After last Saturday I honestly think that is a possibility, we were that bad. I'd give him a bit longer but he needs some wins and fast.
