If I come away from M K Dons on Saturday having seen a good game of football and taken 3 points ..... I'll be happy chappy.

If we come out having lost and seen an abysmal performance I'm not going to be thinking - 'that's o.k. - we're building for the future'

The issue is not whether Wilson should stay or go the issue is that some posters have to stop deluding themselves that all is well and we're happy with what's happening. And the Club need to hear that message.

    Which is fine.
The pro Wilson and club posters are rightly entitled to their views also.
Two different ends of the spectrum opinion wise but Football is and will remain a results based business.
If we constantly keep losing on a regular basis change will happen just as night follows day.
You cannot continue with a policy which is not working, well I suppose you can if so minded, but to do so would be to the detriment of the club in more ways than one.

With all due respect your looking at 4 games not the bigger picture over the last 12 months.
look at the stats and I'm sure we've lost more than we have won.
    Look at the league table.
It's not pretty and may become worse tomorrow. That is because we are losing a lot of games.
    More than should be acceptable.

    Last 10 games

    Won 4
    Lost 5
    Draw 1

Not sparkling form but given all the handringing about how terrible we are not bad. Extrapulates to 57/58 points over a season. and bang on the average PPG of 1.3. So depends if we are sacking managers for being average or not.

I take this season in isolation as many people yourself included (unless I am mistaken said you would judge on).

You seem to be suggesting that the current policy (buying/loaning promising young players) is one devised by the manager, and the manager alone. In the last week there has been a thread questioning the value of our Chairman. His value is in his experience in the football and legal field. There has been another thread about the club financial results and noting not only the £2m loss, but also the donation of more than £800K by the owner. I think that the Chief Executive has escaped without too much criticism this week, so I will note his specialist knowledge here. He is a sports lawyer who was formerly a players' agent. Now, the question is, would those people, with the backgrounds that they have, be happy to just rubber stamp a policy devised by the manager without questioning it and analysing it against their own opinions and experience, and also measuring its efficacy against both the projected revenue for this season and the investment that the owner was prepared to fund in order to increase that revenue.

If like me, after taking under consideration the evidence, you decide that the 4 man management team would have not only reached a consensus on the policy, but that they would also have decided upon a time frame that the policy should be allowed to run before they would judge the success or otherwise of said policy. It becomes harder to lay all the blame at the feet of the team manager if you accept the logic of joint decision-making and joint responsibility for the resulting policy. It is even questionable whether the team manager can be held responsible for the application of said policy when we realise that the identification of players is also being done by a team consisting of the team manager, the chief executive and possibly the son of the owner.

Of course, the team manager is responsible for picking the team and the deployment of tactics. However, the has gone through a very difficult period with injuries to important players and in many cases their understudy's. This has necessitated the blooding of young players who were not yet ready for first team action and the integration of these players into the first team squad. Even in the narrow task of picking a team and tactics, this season is not an ideal one to make an educated judgement upon his success or failure.

My advice is that we should all patient and wait until a better time, a time when the policy has run its course, before we make our judgement.

Even though I don't see it like Conan does, he does present the 'other' argument very well in that post.

Fair play. And he might be right.
