I could not just for and watch another team like mk Dons have done, I would support the barnsley that reformed afc barnsley or sumat, don't know how they can do it, remember going to watch my local side askern villa playing against Scarborough year after they reformed and they bought 1000 fan for Evo stick prem game on a Tuesday night true fans! Hate mk Dons more than Leeds

Wonder what percentage of MK dons fans are actually the original Wimbledon fans. Would have thought most the mk fans are local folk supporting their local team.

If a team miles away went under and they moved it to wakefield, im sure people in wakey would start watching them

I dont get all the hate towards them, it was ***** what happened to the original dons but its not the fault of the mk players and their fans

I don't have an issue with the MK fans but the very existence of the club grates on me. What happened was completely wrong and the FA should have stopped it. Like you say its not the fans fault though.

Pete Winkelman has since said He regrets what happened at the time and with hindsight would do things differently...What happened was wrong and I agree the FA/Football league should have done something, I don't know what but Wimbledon fans were truly shafted...However I don't hate MK, they have a growing, progressive, ambitious football club and Wimbledon are back in the league...What's history can't be changed...It should never be allowed to happen again tho.

I dislike everything possibly about Franchise FC including their fans who don't seem to see the problems created by their very existence which reflects all thats wrong with Football.

Without the mighty reds I'd probably go non league

I was a ball boy for AFC Barnsley. Went to all their home games in their first season, as this was when the reds were away. It was a refreshing break from the trauma of the first team at that time as AFC won every game at home that season except the final game of the season. I've got fond memories of going on the team bus to the cup final at Stocksbridge, which they won 4-0. I remember more from the AFC games that year than Barnsley games. Didn't go the season after because they played their games on the academy pitch at Oakwell which would have cost me bus fare to get there and I could walk to the Dorothy Hyman in the first season.

Would lose interest in modern day football and would look for something on Saturdays don't know what but would definitely find summat to replace and not fester.granted it wouldn't be the same having craic wi Barnsley and away fans alike or the feeling of being away. Miles from home wi fellow reds but could not follow or show interest in other english clubs.
Mk Dons have been allowed to snub the process of being a professional club which has taken other more deserving clubs a century and more to try to achieve their dream which is a disgrace IMO.
If it had been Frickley for example without a money man behind them they would have been laughed at by the £FA

I think the fact they used the "Dons" bit is what hurt most

for the lads from Wimbledon. If they had just used MK, and not Dons, the subject would by now have dropped away somewhat.

Doubt that very much, its the deed rather than the name surely

I couldn't transfer my allegiance to another football team so it would probably be Super League for me with the Huddersfield Giants who are the nearest team to where I live.

Ron Noades tried to move Wimbledon to MK in the late seventies, though this never seems to be mentioned any more. Wonder how things would have developed if he succeeded, first division, fa cup win, founding members of premier league.

The Wimbledon fans were sold up the river to a point but they have a new club which is competing at almost the same level, created by the fans for the fans, the history and achievements of Wimbledon have been transferred to them from MK, and so I think it's about time they let it go. It might help if MK Dons became Milton Keynes Town or United or whatever I guess.

Could have been worse, look what wasps have done in the egg chasing.

I've heard Wimbledon fans say on the radio, if they lost the name Dons then they would move on....I agree why not just be Milton Keynes City or summat.
