    I used to go watch Wakefield Trinity and they had a player called Waisale Sovatabua. The trin fans used to sing his surname over and over. My mate (that got me into it in the first place) for years believed they were singing "southern samoa!". I thought it was a bit odd as he was from Fiji...

    I've actually seen that mate...on backstreets there's about a 5 page thread about different songs, it's actually really funny to read what some people thought he sang :)

    My step son, when he was younger, started singing along in the car to "I can see clearly now the rain has gone", but thought it was "I can see Keely now Lorraine has gone". :) Genius! He took that attitude all the way through his teenage years as well!

    This isn't really a misheard song lyric, more like a misplaced/missing comma...

    In David Bowie's 'Moonage Daydream', the line where he goes "the church of man, love, is such a holy place to be", it took me years to find out that there's actually supposed to be a comma between the words "man" and "love"... Discovering that was quite a mind-blowing experience as it changed the whole meaning of that line. :p

    And that, children, is why correct punctuation and grammar is important!
