"Do we ever beat a Danny Wilson side. Same performance from all his teams. Time waste like fuk, knock the ball long, play for corners, throw ins etc... "

We had 2 corners, in the 82nd and 84th minutes. They had 6. Just saying, like.

Anyway, it wasn't our tactics it was the pitch that was at fault: "Oldham manager Lee Johnson told BBC Radio Manchester: "the pitch wasn't conducive to playing any sort of football.'"

    a few quotes:

"Because they really were dreadful and it's frustrating knowing that had we turned up and employed the correct tactics, we'd have beaten them by a margin"

"True, I don't believe you need to play pretty Football at our level, just take your chances. Preston last season being a prime example. The difference last night was that Barnsley looked very low on confidence, they didn't case us any problems and bagged a goal from a mistake made by Brown. Had that mistake not been made I cant see where an opposition goal would have come from."

"We were ****, they were ****, their managers tactics worked, ours didn't. Let's not get our knickers in a twist....."

"It had draw all over it and in fairness to Barnsley, they shut up shop after scoring and we had no answers.

"It looked like a mediocre, mid-table clash and that's disappointing when we were going for fifth."

"more possession, more shots, more corners.....had we played well we would have pissed it. what a shame....."

and finally........ a very good point:

"How come nearly every team we play is 'bang average', 'very poor' or the 'worst I've seen'?

And with us being so good with a genius manager why is that we don't beat most of them?

Never any middle ground for some people... "

    Timewasting - us?

We actually commented at the game that we couldn't believe it seemed like they were timewasting when they were losing? the guy who took an age to go off when making their sub, the guy bent down tying his shoe lace, the guy who rolled over a dozen times in front of the east stand????

Us timewasting? This coming from a side that were employing timewasting tactics from the first whistle, and perhaps they need a different supplier of boot laces or at least teach their players how to fasten them.

They were even timewasting when they were behind!

    A cynical, dirty team.

Weird innit, how opinions differ. My take on Oldham would have been cynical, massively time wasting (even when losing - which is weird) and not much more in their locker than hoofing the ball up to the big man..

After now seeing the goal l fail to see where this mistake of theirs was? he's made it sound like a mis-kick that's put us through on goal. Was the mistake their player losing the ball in the midfield tussle after being harassed? If he counts that has a mistake then every goal scored as a mistake in it somewhere.

I wondered the same after seeing the highlights. Waring did really well to hold it up and play it out wide, great ball in by Lalkovic and a brilliant finish by Hemmings. didn't see a mistake there just good play by us

The quote said "a mistake made by Brown" but wasn't it Wilson's header and then Kelly who lost out to Waring?

You're right, that'll be what he's getting at. Hard to tell from the video because it looks close enough to him and he goes towards it but then when he stops and turns it seems to have gone past him.
