A growler is a pork pie .which i thought was a common phrase in Barnsley but quite a few havnt heard it so am baffled
Whereas, I, on the other hand, have always thought a 'growler' to be a cornish nasty, as in an 'humpty-back growler' - on account of mi mam mekkin me cornish nasties in the shape of a stegosaurus.......them wer days.....pastry as thick as my grand-daughter (that's another story)
Reight! The definitive answer...If you call 'em anything other than a growler, you're a southern, shandy drinking puffter. HTH.
I love a pork pie, especially a warm one, but I'd never heard them referred to as a 'growler' until I saw it on here. As a straight talking person who likes to avoid ambiguity, I think I'll continue to refer to them as pork pies!
Bump Tickets going out pretty quick for this - we're limited to numbers we can get in so worth getting your tickets before hand. Also, if anyone can help with a raffle or auction prize let me know. Cheers.
