For what it's worth, I feel (from afar) that Danny went with the wrong approach from kick off, played directly into the oppositions hands with a negative setup, bizarre inclusions and bizarre exclusions, and only when he changed it second half did we give it a go. Error gifted them the clinching second goal. He admitted we're **** away, but I think our regular away fans would rather see us at least go down fighting. I accept all the building, the long term view etc, but we've played Swindon today, not Bayern. A team full of lads I've hardly heard of. A good side? Clearly, at this level. But setting up with nine defensive minded players? It's not great. Could have been out of sight at half time. With all them defensive players on. Lads on Player commentary say Danny is to blame today. They also suggest the club refund away supporters for the last couple of months of away games where it's been absolutely dire. And Winnall apparently injured again. Great. Enjoy your evenings, BBS'ers. Sithi Tuesday. You Reds.
I think most, if not all, fans would rather see their team losing positively than losing negatively, if you know what I mean.
Can't face another away game until something changes drastically. 6 away losses on the bounce with the last 5 scoreless. As you say, I feel for those that travel regularly. They ought to have a medal the size of a dustbin lid.
I only went to Donny away and was disgusted and hoped it was a one off being so bad. It appears not. Hats off indeed to regular away fans
I enjoy the away games but there will be no more from me until we show that we can be at least competitive and give things a go.
Danny sez he put Smith in to cope with Byrne. Hourihane needed a rest. And that we got to grips with it second half. Cranie has a hip injury, Winnall felt his hamstring, precaution that he wasn't included.
Dunno the answer to that one. I actually think we've set up not to lose at home too, recently. Someone compared it to the football under Robins the other day. I can see that. Ah well. We lost. I predicted a 2-0 defeat. Dust ourselves down, move on to two very winnable games now.
gave up with away games after mk dons game . win or lose i just want us to have a go and at least set up a team to win
This is spot on know we are rebuilding and I accept that but I want my team to be at least trying to win. We have been pretty bad away since the mid 80s but at least we used to try to win.
Listened to there manager on way home, and he admitted that Swindon had actually changed their system today to play one up front as he had expected us to play with 2 strikers after our "recent good run of form".
We absolutely did not get to grips with it second half. They were given freedom and space at will, and we offered nothing going forward until around the 70th minute. Unbelievable to think that after playing so badly we nearly brought the scores level, but ultimately fluffed a four on one chance. Danny got it so badly wrong today
And I'm giving up after today. Every away game under Wilson we set up to not lose, and inevitably lose on most occasions. I'll probably go to S****horpe but Crawley, Gillingham, Colchester? Don't think so. Not unless Wilson decides he's going to put out a team to win these games. Not fair on the fans that travel all that way to reward them with such negativity.
Yes agree . A long way to go to next few games and expensive day out , we should be giving these teams a go and not just turning up
The philosophy of setting up not to lose has gone on for too long now, and look where we are! Just proves it doesn't worK.
He had to change it yesterday. If we'd gone there with Hemmings & Hourihane still in the team & played 4-4-2 we'd have got battered in my opinion. I think we'd have lost regardless of what team we out out yesterday so I'm not gonna slate Danny for us losing, same as I won't for losing at MK Dons. The performances in the other away games aren't good enough though.
Last away day for me for a bit other than Crawley cos I've not been there. Lost the will to live yesterday and don't feel any different about it today.
Spent an absolute fortune going to away games over the last 18 months or so and decided I needed to reign that in a bit, if money was no object I'd have been there yesterday but when the end of the season comes and the players are swanning off on holiday, I won't be able to afford one after following them around the country only playing this negative game that never gives you the desired outcome. I've missed one game away all season ( yeovil) and I'll end up going to the remaining away games other than orient . If away days were just about the match I would have stopped along time ago. Half an hour after yesterday's game and a few pints with the lads all is forgotten and you enjoy the day. I get that some people just go for the match then drive home these are the people I feel for Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
