Neither would I but given that the crowds for it can be as high as 35000 I do wonder where all the 'fans' come from?

Had this argument with one of them when they offered free entry to Oakwell when they played there. He couldn't see why I wouldn't go and support them.

Didn't like it when I said I might go and cheer for the opposition.

Nope. Recall when we beat them at six a side couple of years back. They only lost one all that season and they were grumpy bar stewards

What a bunch of sour faced ****s you lot are. Shaw Lane were outstanding today, coming back from 1-2 down in the second half to go through. You sad barstewards stop at home and if they get there we'll have a right laugh down at Wemberleeee...

Thanks for that! I have no affinity with SLA. So, that been said why would I go to watch them? Would I go to watch Rotherham/Donny etc if they got to a final at Wembley? No I wouldn't. Nar then....... here's the million dollar question? Would I go if it was Brig, Penistone etc?? No I wouldn't. I'd wish them well as they've (IMHO) done things the correct way.

I don't own one! Although I'd like to congratulate you on such a well constructed and witty retort on your hour a day release from yours.

Virtually every post in this thread is a small minded dig at SLA and you take offence at my post, which wasn't directed at you but you want to be clever and all high and mighty like most of the regular tossers on here. If you want intellectual debate watch Question Time rather than discussing football with me on here after I've had six pints...

Mine wasn't! I apologise if it wasn't aimed at me, doesn't really compute on iPhone.

    (a) hope I'm not a regular ******, I prefer to be an individual one
    (b) don't come on ere after 6 pints
    (c) learn to sup, keep going, and while you've chance keep off ere its full of tossers
    (d) I had no idea youd been supping, how would I?
    (e) SLA are and will always be everything folk hate around ere, they're not 'small minded digs' IMHO. They're founded on fact. Even some of their players agree. Nuff said
    (f) enjoy your trip if they make it. Make Sheffield proud;-)

Yep good advice. Will defo stay off here in future. I know you follow Rec and I've seen a lot of them too, including Hillsborough last year for the Senior Cup Final. A good night. Just don't understand the hatred of SLA. Yep Craig Wood supports Wednesday. Yep he's got money that he's worked hard for and spends it on the club. So what's the issue? Jealousy? Small mindedness? Dunno. Hate isn't an emotion I like.

    I don't hate, just don't support.
Not jealous, just prouder of how other clubs have developed.
Small minded, I'd prefer to think of it as believing in what I think is right and true.
Good luck to SLA. Be nice for some local lads to laik at Wembley. That's neither of the above, it's genuine. But I'll not be there if they do.

So why do you follow Barnsley then? Bank rolled by a rich owner who funds loans, transfers etc. It's all relative. I admire clubs who are self sufficient and am a big admirer of FC Utd, a superb club completely run, owned and funded by its own fans. But I admire the ambition and effort of the lads at SLA too. Speak to the 72 year old whose spent hours this week trying to make sure the pitch was playable. For me a lot of the negativity is just a bit sad...
