On Tuesday we go above them. On goal difference. If that doesn't spur the team on then nothing will. You mediocre Reds come on.
Can't understand why anyone posts on a football forum when they have nothing to say about football. Oh Well each to their own! as Mr Whitey would say
Come on you Barnsley Massives we are the bestest supported team in the universe and should brush aside all comers. Cone on you Barnsley Massives. We should be beating 'the likes' of Swindon every day of the week.
Practically every side we play, their fans describe us as 'the likes of Barnsley' or '***** like Barnsley'. There was a thread on the Huddersfield forum last week asking 'Barnsley or Pompey?'. They are sick of being bottom feeders in the second tier, it's boring, they know they can't compete financially. Most of them said they'd prefer Hoyle to loosen the purse strings, do a Pompey and get promoted and win an FA Cup before eventually going bust and being in the fourth division.
Without wanting to sound like a dee dar I would expect us to be above Fleetwood however the league table doesn't lie.
Jimmy accepts being below a club who, ten years ago, were at the same level Athersley Rec are at now.
That was almost football related though I suspect you are talking about a defeat in a game of monopoly or something
its not nailed on, they are a decent team IMHO we will not have it all our own way. Never mind by 2 goals...by one goal will do me.
How long ago did Swansea win their last Mach of the season to retain their league status? Do you accept being below them or should we accept nothing less than being in the top 10 of the Premiership. Then there is Burnley and Hull recent history says we should be above both. Stop living in an idealised past that actually never existed. Football like life is constantly evolving and changing. That's a good thing or it would be boring. We are where we are which is a team in rebuild that deserves to be mid table in league 1. Do I want this for my team? Not especially. Do I expect over the next 5 years to reverse our decline and move forwards yes. If this doesn't happen by next week will I have a strop. No.
Re: I have a strop most days Take Coventry, 30 plus consecutive seasons in top tier, now one place above relegation zone to the fourth. Dread to think what the Moanster's blood pressure would be if he supported them...
We did 21 consecutive seasons without playing below the second tier - not bad by my reckoning and something that I see as the norm for us. I'm. To happy that we're in the third tier at all. I'm even less happy that we're floundering. Some folk are less bothered. Everyone has different levels of ambition for the club or what they consider acceptable. Our current plight is unacceptable. On the opposite side of that, Fleetwood are having the best season in their history. Fair play to them.
Re: I have a strop most days Or a Sheffield United fan they won they league in 1898 so anything less than finishing above Chelsea has to be a disappointment.
heres a few teams to add to you list teams whose fans could think they should be higher in the Pyramid than where they are now... all have been in the top tier and in a too distant past Blackpool Wigan Charlton Bolton Fulham Cardiff Reading Brighton Oldham Bradford Portsmouth Sheff Utd Sheff Weds Ipswich Norwich Watford Middlesborough Wolves Wimbledon .... and not MK Franchise BARNSLEY Add them to Hull, Burnley, Leicester, QPR... then take a look at teams that have been mostly 2nd tier.... it now shows a picture that no team has a right to any sort of status... I for one will always be grateful to have a team to support/follow from my own town unlike Darlington... Scarborough... etc hmmmmm
