The team should play for the club, the shirt, the fans and the fact that they are getting a mighty fine wage for 90 minutes work.
So they should. But if you wanted the manager to keep his job, wouldn't you have put in a better shift than that?
I take your word for it Mario I can and do criticize but I haven't attended so my opinion is somewhat irrelevant compared to the lads and lasses who did attend!
God knows Ian. When we've got a professional football player on thousands of pounds per week comparing himself to William Wallace, then I really don't have a clue what goes on in their minds.
I saw professional footballers, yes that's PROFESSIONAL footballers. Those lads in a job millions dream of. In a job where they get to practise day in day out; and they can't pass a ball less than 10 yards to a teammate who is free. They can't head away from goal, when under pressure. They can control the ball further than they can kick it; and they refuse to move into space or to make space. Those are the basics of football that kids get coached. But these aren't kids, they are the cream of the crop. Formation, tactics aside, the lack of application from professional footballers is, in my view unacceptable.
Clarkey took em down the pit years ago maybe we need to take this lot to Crapita's call centre they need a rocket shoving up their asses.
Makes you wonder. If they're not playing for Wilson though, then it just makes me hate footballers all the more. Not cos I think that Wilson is beyond blame, (he clearly isn't), but these guys are being paid to play for our club. Any differences should be put to one side when they cross the line.
Making them run around alot more will make no difference at all. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's arse. They tried quite hard tonight. They pressed Fleetwood regularly first half. When we have the ball though there is no penetration. No structure. No team cohesion. No plan. no idea. No forward tempo. Thus no atmosphere. No encouragement. no enjoyment.
