Shows how opinions differ, I thought he misplaced a lot of passes and found himself in trouble a lot (though not always his fault).
Not saying he was great or owt though we left him isolated 3 on 1 far too often. He did however put three crosses in that any decent forward would have converted at least one of which compared with the efforts of the rest deserves praise. I didn't see anything worthwhile in any of the rest.
Bit harsh on Scowen and Pearson that mate Especially Scowen. Second consecutive MOTM performance* at Oakwell in only his third start. Him and Pearson are a level above the rest of the players on the pitch, and it shows. Agree about Smith mind. Thought he did really well playing left back and left midfield all in one half. * In my eyes, obviously not the sponsors of tonight's game
Re: Bit harsh on Scowen and Pearson that mate Smith needs someone to explain to him what 'cutting inside' means, and why half-decent players do it. It became a bit embarassing in the second half; ball out wide, Smith puts his head down and just runs into an ever-narrowing channel towards the corner flag without looking up. Either a wasted cross or gets crowded out. You could see the Fleetwood defenders quickly realised this was an easy option for them to deal with and just gave him the space to be picked out for his inevitable run to nowt.
Re: Bit harsh on Scowen and Pearson that mate At 17 he probably does need that kind of advice. He could also do with team mates that show for the ball inside and get closer to him to allow the give and go, resulting in him not needing to put his head down and run. The amount of times he just had zero options other than going backwards was ridiculous. There were occasions where he tried to play the ball inside, but was greeted with players such as Kiwomya and Hemmings who were 'super, super keen' to try and move towards the ball.
Ramage no idea why. As other posters have said Scowen and Pearson of those that started were the best of a ***** bunch.
Re: Bit harsh on Scowen and Pearson that mate He needs to learn a lot but at least he was obviously trying very hard and never went missing even when things weren't working out.
