Thursday's news has revitalised my passion and hope for the remainder of the season. Having missed Tuesday with man flu but hearing the horror stories I was preparing to completely write off many more home games in favour of social activities and things I would enjoy more.

I called for it again Tuesday, the bullet, and have been calling for it since the debacle and absolute embarrassment of Scunny and Donny at home. Doncaster away was an all time low for this season and amongst worst away performances I can remember in recent years. You, the fantastic fans that have travelled in numbers this season, deserve tons more than the dross that DW and CH served up each week.

In summary this season has been pretty poor since the start, barring the signs of a mini revival in October, where performances against Bradford, Bristol and Sheff Utd were exactly what we all expect of a squad of this quality and a manager with a 1'000 + games under his belt. Let's not pretend suddenly DW had it sussed, the signing of Ryan Williams injected that bit of impoteus into the midfield and for a run of a few games made us look something like, but it was merely papering over the cracks. As soon as he was injured not long followed by Winnall, we were screwed, no plan B, C or D.

DW failed massively in getting the best out of HIS signings, leaving his tactics, set up and formations a side, which were diabolical, ultimately his signings were not good enough or he had no man management skills to get the best. You see DW is a gaffer that goes with what he sees on the training pitch, fair enough I hear you say, but we all know footballers are sensitive different creatures. Some react to a bollocking, some can be left to their own devices and are total pros, whilst some need the arm around the shoulder and constant love. Only us could sign two players Lita and Treacy with a wealth of Championship and higher experience, only to hardly play them and give them a fair crack of the whip. There is nobody on here that can come on and say they were given that. Players need a good 6-10 games in a row before they start to settle, click with others and get into the groove. Constant changing of the line up did nothing to help us.

He also failed massively in his failure to capture full backs. How he couldn't get a proper left back in and right back in is beyond me. I know we got Dudgeon in, but again on loan, something we said we would shy away from.

We were all happy with the young hungry approach for players, I have no concerns over Hourihane, Berry etc. they obviously can play and will be excellent League 1 players once we get a better manager in. However he failed to add a sprinkling of experience to this side. It's been crying out for a Hassell, Lawrence etc to sit in front of back four, protecting, reading, distributing. A player of Baileys ability would have benefited greatly from this type of player along side him. He will still make a good player at this level I'm sure.

Can't wait for whoever the new manager is, as long as they play the formation that suits the lads best, is designed to beat the opposition and actually has ideas to change it if it's not working. Also whoever the new gaffer is needs pulling Jenno and Hourihane aside and saying to them "you two can be the best players in this division, pull your fingers out and show me and the fans that your good enough"

People have whinged, cried and spat their dummies out all over social media and radio about the timing of the dismissal. In my opinion there is never a bad time. The new man will have best part of two and half months to asses, plan and try new ideas. Review the squad, identify targets etc

This time next year we will be flying, I'm sure of it, yoooooooo Reds

I feel pretty much like you do. I wanted to leave the game at half time on Tuesday, and wasn't going to bother with Crewe - I am more optimistic now Danny has gone, he just seemed devoid of any ideas lately.

I was agreeing with some of this post then saw the Treacy needed more time bit...he couldn't be arsed to get fit to play in the Premiershit so he was never going to do it for us. Lita his talent used to be goal hanging now even the game has moved on or he appears to have lost it but yes maybe deserves a longer run in the team.

Don't we have Scowen and Pearson to protect the back 4. And do we want to develop our own players like Smith at full back or bring in some journeyman to fill in the gap? Again we recently recruited a right back and have plenty of cover there in Cranie and Bree when fit.

teams at this level with these resources can barfly afford plan A let alone plan B C or D

    still onwards and upwards v

Aye Jimmy, I knew what you saying re: Treacy and evidently he wasn't perhaps as fit as others, but talk to any dee dahs they will tell you he's one of the best crossers of a ball they've seen in reason years

With Jennings out of picture and no other real wide men, we have had no width or service for absolute months.

For how well we wernt doing we should have perserved and just said look Keith float around but put ball after ball into box, Berry will cover you and work behind you, look for Leroy, he'll be making runs into 6 yard box, he's a poacher

I just think we missed a trick I really do. And I tell you what's disgraceful about DW, he played Leroy up top on his jack against Donny and he was excellent then we never saw him again in league

Scowen looks a great prospect, I would love to see him and Bailey in a two in front of back four, with a 3 of CH, DJ and ML behind Winnall.

I'm not thinking about the loans, they are too young, too inexperienced and not contracted to this club therefore I care not for them

Also im over moon we've got Smith and Holgate coming through, but you know as well as I do, you can't get through the amount of games we play with them playing so much. We needed established full backs with the youth challenging them

Look at old Jay Mc at Lane, moved inside to centre half and they talking about him as player of year contender.

It's not all about kids, you need a mix. DW should know that of all people playing his final days for us

Treacy was a waste of space and that was down to him and his attitude.

What if we get worse though? What if in two and a half months time we've been relegated?

It was Mario it was, but DW signed him. He went out of his way and signed him on a two year deal

You telling me a gaffer experienced as him couldn't get a second opinion on him? Ballacks

I'd have still put my arm around him and played him tho coz he was only player with delivery. We wouldn't have been any worse off points wise that's for sure

This is his side. He brought the players in

We won't go down though and the new man will hopefully motivate this bunch more than Wilson did.
