If we had won 5-1 today, I would have said that Wilson must have lost the dressing room and unfortunately perhaps the decision to relieve him of his duties was the correct one.

A massive defeat against a poor team suggests that the players are protesting against the club's decision. We might have lost anyway, but not like this. The players can't be happy with the decision to sack Wilson.

    Maybe.

Or that the players clearly don't want to play for his right hand men and want/need a change of managerial team and style.

    Can work both ways.

It could be that the players are just spineless brats who don't want to play for the club regardless of the manager or who is running the club.

The players obviously see us a stepping stone to greater things, Conor Hourihane, prime example.
Wearing our shirt should be a bloody privilege.

And so they should given that the clubs strategy is to bring in "young and hungry players who can become saleable assets", to quote Ben.

Why would they show any loyalty when the man running the show spends so much time publicly talking about them as a return on investment?

Maybe because they realise a new manager will notice they have no spine and **** em off

I was never subscribed to the Wilson club but makes you think that it's this lot that's got him the sack. Sounds like Burton has now got the culprits Sussed. If that's their attitude they need shifting on.

That's tough talk from Burton, but he's dreaming if he thinks the spineless barstewards can turn this around next week.

Winnall obviously expresses the right attitude.

From Danny down to the ballboys (yep give em another kicking) the whole attitude seemed to me to be slack.

    A few notable exceptions.

But overall no healthy environment. No drive. No urgency.

Are we really giving the players the excuse that they were garbage today because they're sad Danny has left?

    Really?

    Seriously?

    Christ on a ******* bike.

It says nothing of the sort. It says too many of our players are gutless, spineless, have no desire or just downright aren't good enough. Don't give them an excuse.

Who were they feeling sorry for during the last six away defeats or the pathetic display on Tuesday?

It's been pretty obvious for most of the season who the culprits are.

I don't think anyone's excusing them but questions have got to be asked of the board who seem to have managed to upset virtually a full squad of players who by all accounts are really close knit.
