Christ could you sound any more like a sheffield wednesday fan? what a load of condescending claptrap
Even though I wouldn't choose Johnson, I'd just like to make it clear that should he become our next manager he'll get my full support from day one, and patience. Prerequisite.
im none the wiser. it seems you are happy with our mid table squad now. noticed you didnt reply. nice.
You've convinced me Whitey. Maybe that's why nothing's happened yet. Getting the fixture between the two clubs out of the way first.
Really you don't think Steve Davis would be a popular appointment?? and yet you touted Dick-anio the other day
For reasons I've just outlined. I mean, the bloke was one of the best centre halves we've ever had for starters, he's since worked his way up through the leagues as a manager and his achievements already better most of the other candidates folk are discussing. Especially Paolo ******* Wannkio.
One of the best centre halves we have ever had? Wow that's some statement, I take it you havent been supporting the Reds that long. Davies another ex player, not for me.
27 seasons. I'd pick him in my best XI. One of the best centre halves we've ever had? In my opinion, and backed up by the fact he was part of our promotion squad in 96-97.
Its all about opinions. I liked him as a centre half but he wouldn't be in my best XI, not even in the squad. I'd have him as manager though.
You've been supporting us longer though. I didn't see McCarthy for example. Davis, De Zeeuw, Taggart. My back three. I know you get folk putting Stonesy in their sides, but the lad played right back for us in a side losing every week. If we could use the careers of lads who left us, then I'd have Hirst up front and Jay Rodriguez in the squad probably. I think in saying Davis is one of the best centre halves we've had, it's fair comment. I can't think of any we've had who've been better since he left. I loved Foster, he'd be close. Weird actually, both were centre halves for Crewe as youngsters, then Burnley, then us where they had the best spell of their careers. Anyway, back on topic - Johnson isn't the man I'd go with, but could understand the rationale if they go for him.
If only you had seen McCarthy, Ian Evans, Paul Futcher, Larry May or Norman Hunter. Nothing we have had in the last 27 years come anywhere near. Head and shoulders above average players like Steve Davis. He's doing ok as a manager but not setting the world on fire.
