I wasn't demanding a statement I was just pointing out that there had been no acknowledgement of events by the ST. Maybe on twitter I don't know but our ST Facebook page has a link to the club statement on the Crawley game ,it didn't put a link to the statement on Wilsons sacking, maybe its just me I think its bizarre
No apology needed Gally , I apologise for having a dig at the ST, but I still think its odd in ST world nothings happened (another dig !!)
Is that ever going to happen? There was only me who agreed to do it wasn't there? Just me and Ben on a webcam... Again.
Wouldn't be the first time Imagine it will, but considering everything maybe not on the agreed date? I'll let Gally update when he has time
We probably should have shared the link to the official statement, but I'm not sure we'd have been 'new news' so not sure that's a big deal really. Between friends and family most people knew about the sacking as it happened. Again, a statement was impossible and don't understand the clamour for one (not that that clamour exists mind), but do take the FB point on board.
I'm frustrated by the Trust. Have been particularly over these last few months. I went to the AGM and offered support/suggestions on its future. Was told there'd be follow ups, there haven't been. As it stands, I've no idea what the Trust actually stand for but the work done for Redfearns is spectacular and something to shout about. In terms of the statement, it could've gone something like this. 'The Trust understand that the decision to part company with Danny Wilson is one that polarises supporter opinion. However, many supporters have raised some real questions about the logic and events leading up to last week. As a representative of all supporters we'll make sure those questions are raised to the club and we'll communicate any answers we receive. We'd like to thank Danny for his hard work & look forward to offering our full support to the new manager of Barnsley FC' IE some lads are pissed off we'll try and get some answers to some of the questions even if members of the Trust board think he should've been sacked.
What did we do then? Ben & Patrick asked to come to a pre arranged meeting we had because I'd begun chatting to Ben previously. When we agreed to it we've arranged a proper venue, equipment and facilities to record it so all supporters are kept informed. We've also marketed it and got a full house for it. Feels like a bit of organisation to me.
This is what can appear to happen when a fans' organisation seems (or is seen) to be too close to the club. Thee think on sithi
Appreciate that. If this had been on the Friday, I'd have come over, attended, stayed in town overnight and done the match next day etc. But that's life. So if the meeting is recorded, detailed/shared etc with anyone who wants that information, I can only say that I'm appreciative of that. I hope it's a good night for Barnsley Football Club.
I don't mate - it came across as you dismissing it. Maybe me being sensitive but saying we'd not organised it I think is massively downplaying it.
Well you read it wrong. I meant the Cryne and Mansford attendance, not the general idea of fans getting together for the better of the club. Hence me telling you I'd be there if I wasn't in London. Would never take anything away from your efforts, and you should know that
They offered, we accepted & then worked us b.llocks off yesterday to get things set up that it was an event completely free to attend for folk not just WSB. Apologies if I took it the wrong way but I will say if a daft magazine can get 50 lads & the CEO/owner together then I think the Trust should be doing it too. That's my frustration - the Trust have massive opportunities that I don't think they take advantage of.
