I'm only joshing tha knows ,and less of the young man,not long since turned 40 so it's old lovely person from now on,sithi.
To all the supporters who did not want Wilson sacking. How long was the barnsley board supposed to wait? We have not produced anything since he arrived and he has left us with a dysfunctional team, and just above drop zone. Were the board supposed to just wait and see if he turned it round or get relegated again. They were not prepared to gamble and hence pulled the trigger
Haven't you heard about the long term plan? Give Wilson 3 years and end up in the Conference. Thankfully he was put out of his misery.
Let's hope the new guy solves all our issues in 18 months or less then too. No guarantee it will be any better under a new guy. Let's hope that in not begging for us to give the new manager more time again whilst you are demanding our next managers to be sacked again down the line.
how can it be better under a new guy till next season unless he has some of the greatest motivational powers that is. There is no transfer window for him the bring in or ship out. Unlesss loans can still be used..... and there again is there not a limit on the amount of loans you can have too.
Correct but I will guarantee that if performances are Carp and we are losing for fun the New Manager may not last 12 Months !!!!!!!!!!
The new appointment will be a gamble. It always is. It wasn't a gamble ridding us of Wilson though. It's been Downright piss poor for too long! I wish the new man the best of luck! He will need it with the spineless lakers we are lumbered with. Without adding names some of the squad are ok but others I wouldn't pay them with brass cheques.
So these mates are non-bfc fans too. This thread should be a sticky so Ben and Pat can take reassurance from it.
Pretty much every Barnsley fan I've spoken to outside of this forum felt a bit sorry for Wilson but felt it was the right decision. At the pub, at football, on other forums, Barnsley fans' opinions are largely the same as mine. It's literally only on here where I've seen the opposite. Which is good, as it's created a hell of a lot of debate, and the whole thing would be boring if we all agreed.
Every Barnsley fan away from the BBS I've spoken to has been 100% against Wilson's sacking. It's only on the internet where I've read of people in agreement with it and then it's still only been a very vocal minority. As you rightly say, it'd be a dull place if we all agreed on everything.
It doesn't worry me if people don't like the manager. I've been in that position numerous times myself over the years, so it'd be somewhat hypercritical of me to criticise anyone else for adopting the same stance. I don't mind debating it with them , but I'll not question their right to think differently to me. I'll leave the personal abuse to others.
Tha does reight, the sooner we get someone in place the better, not that interested in who gets it, just hope the club give him time cos that's what is pissin me off. Here we go rarnd the mulberry bush - its like being in Wakey nick supporting us.
I've an open mind as to who our new manager should be. Well, when I say open, I mean empty like the emptiest empty thing.
I'm in a total quandry regarding Danny. I was overjoyed when he came back. As last season went on however, his unconcerned demeanour left me feeling he didn't believe that we could escape the drop from the outset, and had been reassured that there were no expectations of this by the club. That seems to have been confirmed this week by the Times interview. He started this season with a clean sheet, and sanctioned the signings made (or so we are told). I know we were late to the party, but Danny surely had the option to veto any proposed signings that he didn't feel would add anything? Anyway, into this season, and as time went on it became clearer we were almost in the same position as last season, only a division lower. Lacklustre performances, and inconsistent results. And major question marks about the team's motivation and the way it was set up. I didn't really want Danny to go, but I couldn't see how we could carry on as we were. I'm concerned that we're going to end up with a manager no better than Danny, and who will require more time to get things right than he will be allowed. I think my overall impression is that we're now chasing a game we allowed to slip away from us while we were still in the Championship. Eight years of going nowhere!
You didnt go bloody go, so you are basing your opinions on hearsay at best ! Also you keep spouting on, but in the end it is just your opinion, not fact like you are presenting it. Just like it was supposedly a fact that we would go down under Ritchie, just opinions of some not facts !!
