Will we have a new manager by weekend?

and following debacle last weekend, what formation and team do you think we will play? Burton said 3-4 players threw the towel in and if they don't react they won't be selected who is he referring to and do we expect any major surprises

    Turnbull
    Cranie, Holgate, Mvoto, Smith
    Berry, Scowen, Pearson, Lalkovic
    Waring & Winnall

I don't think we'll have a manager in by Saturday and I think the team will be pretty much the same team that played on Saturday.

    Hourihane
    Oates.

Assuming Winnall isn't fit. In for Oates if he is.

It's so difficult to pick a team at the moment because no matter what system you think of we've not got the players to fill it comfortably. Cant believe we got out of the transfer window in that state.

I'm coming round to thinking that 352 might be the best option. Allows us to get 3 in centre midfield and give Connor a bit more freedom. Is at the expense of sacrificing men out wide, but we've been light (not literally) in that area all season. Puts quite a lot of pressure on Smith and Cranie though, only thing I'm not sure about.

    Turnbull
    Cranie M'voto Ramage Holgate Smith
    Pearson Hourihane Scowen
    Winnall Waring

    Winnall Lalkovic

I'd send Ramage, Pearson and Waring back. No offence to em, I just don't see the point in em.

Whilst by all accounts I've read & the highlights I've seen that they were shambolic last week I believe that it was a one off reaction to a sacking the players didn't agree with so I won't be making wholesale changes.

I'd go 3-5-2 because I've got no faith in any of our wide players.

    Turnbull
    Holgate M'Voto Cranie
    Williams Pearson Scowen Smith
    Hourihane
    Waring Winnall

I'd drop Nyatanga as I believe his performances have been pretty poor over the past 2 months. If Ramage is fit he replaces big Jean.

If Winnall isn't fit then play either Oates, Lalkovic or Kiwomya with Waring, just as long as it's not Hemmings or Lita.

I also believe a 3-5-2 would get the best out of Hourihane. Don't like to see him out wide.

I really don't like the balance of the squad though. Whilst I rate Pearson & Ramage they aren't in positions where we need loan signings. Centre mid & centre back are probably our most covered positions & it's clear we're lacking up front (whilst Winnall's been injured), out wide & at left back

come on... you dont see the point of our (on loan admittedly) best defender and best midfielder playing? Waring too by all accounts isnt that bad and certainly a better option than hemmings or lita at the minute. i agree if your point is we shouldnt have loan players, in an ideal world we wouldnt have, but we do as our team is *****

Burton said in his post match interview that the players who have underperformed will be dropped for next week, or words to that effect.

My feeling is that if Burton is in charge we will get nothing. He hasn't the experience or the authority to motivate a poor bunch of players, and the disastrous start last week will only have magnified this. Apart from that I'm pretty optimistic.

Cranie will do well to get anywhere near the team saturday. ****.

Add nyatanga and houriane to that as well.

I can see the point. Ramage adds leadership, simplistic defending and strength at the back. Pearson puts his foot on the ball, spreads and distributes well and gets a foot in. Waring adds a more physical target option. All these are things we doing have at our club right now. If the issue is we are relying on Loanees and shouldn't be then maybe your right, but this is the hand that we chose under Danny and right now it's the one we have to play with.

    I would play

    Davies
    Holgate, Crainie, Ramage, Smith
    Berry Pearson Hourihane Scowan
    Winnall Waring

Ideally I would like to see an experienced LB and some wingers. I don't think Jennings has quite done it this year and Lalkovic might be better coming off the bench for a game or two. If Winnal can't start I would use Lita for his experience to help Waring.

If we haven't appointed by the weekend I would expect any prospective manager to be at the game. We need a "MANAGER WATCH" thread on Sat.

Winnall will still be injured. Burton said 3 or 4 gave up so i'd expect more changes than your team suggests. Press seemed to think Burton would get three games so he could still be in charge for Scunny.

He'll be in the Crewe dugout.

Beginning to think the business model super strategy thingy involves coshing Steve Davies at full time and having big Jean sit on the kit basket until the Crewe coach driver has got fed up with waiting.

Then perform a Face Off style transplant with Cryne jnr who could be despatched off to Gresty Road and dismantle decades of youth development and buy a load of duds on the back of how many kilometres they cover running round like headless chickens.

Just an idea to run up the corporate flagpole.

Well if Burton is still in charge and sticks to his threat to drop underperformers it will be something like

    Davies
    Holgate , Ramage , M'Voto, Smith
    Jennings/Berry, Scowen, Pearson, Lalkovic
    Waring , Winnall/Oats

Depending on whether Jennings and Winnall are fit

wow we are desperate now, Game Vs Crewe

so the staff of 'Game' on cheapside have to turn out against Crewe on Saturday, that's clutching at straws if you ask me. Cannot they at least get the Staff from a couple of the market stalls too.

If the underperformers are getting dropped then Jennings will be nowhere near the team.
