It may have nothing to do with not wanting them. If they don't apply or when approached say no thanks, what can you do? Adkins may well want a break and be waiting for a better opportunity than Barnsley. You've got no idea of what's going on behind the scenes so it's all speculation...
In don't think any Leeds or Weds link make a bit of difference... Previous managers.....Clarke, Hunter, Wilson, Anderson etc etc
I agree - I dont care where they played or managed in the past its whether they are any good and play entertaining football that is important for me- though being a fascist or previously treating Barnsley with contempt are other things I would like to see avoided

Did very well at Swindon. Took over and won the league in his first season, also knocked out Prem League Wigan in the cup and reached the football league trophy final. The following season they were under a transfer embargo, club was up for sale and the players were being sold behind his back. P95 W54 D18 L23 WIN %56.84 PPG 1.89
I remember a story about Ronnie Glavin. Clarkie heard he was available and phoned him, Ronnie didn't fancy it and asked for money that was twice what he expected. Clarkie gave it to him and the rest is history. Our club gained a load of respect and Clarkie built a team around him that was the best I've ever seen at Oakwell. Gates ran at better than an average of 14,000 and we began to rebuild our Division 2 (the real division 2) reputation. If we want to attract good players and excite the crowd we need to pay for a good manager.
With how much ****ing money he had to spend in that first season I'm not surprised he won the league, pretty poor showing the season after however, just shows he's incapable of building a decent side for the long term. Add to this he's a first rate lovely person, a fascist, an ex wednesday player and tbf a ****ing terrible manager makes me sooo anti Di Canio that if he was appointed, not only would I not go while he was in charge, I'd also never be back until the c*nts that brought that clown to the club are gone too. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21499926 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paolo_Di_Canio#Swindon_Town He's got a massive win percentage. Money he spent? He had a player sold from under him that he didn't want to go, which resulted in his resignation. Poor the season after? He left them sixth in the league. I wish we were having a poor 6th in the league season after a promotion. They got relegated and he got them promoted first time of asking and if the board hadn't gone behind his back Swindon might still have him as manager and at championship level. He got them to Wembley and paid 30k out of his own pocket to help the club keep their better players. I get he's a facist and a hothead etc but his managerial ability can't be questioned in the lower leagues.
I don't want him as manager, but I'm no longer against it. After last nights eye opener, I'm not sure it matters who's manager.
