Seems like a lot of people are against a disciplinarian, tough no nonsense manger. One who rules with an iron rod and demands effort in every aspect of their profession. Controversial and challenging, Seems like people are against a mild mannered, tactical unassuming manager. More accommodating of player needs, quiet and sometimes laid back. Believes in youth and performs well with minimal resources. So what's in the middle?
I want a manager who will play open, attractive, attacking football. I want a manager that will set us up to win more than we lose at home and give it a go away from home. I want a manager who will look to develop our youth prospects and mix them with a decent blend of established pros. I don't care if he's 30 or 60 years old. I don't care if he's black, white or any other skin colour. I don't care if he's Christian, Muslim, Buddhist or Atheist. I don't care if he's a disciplinarian or an arm around the shoulder softie. I don't care if he's ex-Wednesday, United or Leeds. Hell, I don't care if it's a he or a she! What I don't want is a highly divisive appointment that further splits the fan base. What I don't want is someone with extremist views. What I don't want is someone who will result in the spotlight being focussed on the club for the wrong reasons. What I don't want is another round of the appoint a man, rip apart the squad, rely on loans, gripe and moan about everything he does and then sack him cycle.
