I wonder if a player has ever won Player of the Season at TWO clubs in the same year?

Josh Scowen was Wycombe's best player and their fans might just give him the vote even though he left.

For me, he is starting to become OUR best player as well. He was outstanding today - tackling, heading, passing, everything. If he could shoot and score a few goals he would be dynamite

In the absence of SSW and a firing CH, Josh is the best we have and we are lucky we got him

If he carries on like he is I'll be giving him my vote too.

Him or Smith should have been MOTM today.

    All over the park.

He's remarkably assured for a "lower league" player. Long time since we had someone who you just KNOW is going to get the ball nine times out of ten when he goes for it. Does something with it too, more often than not.

Like I said, we are lucky to have him and there is no "big star" act from him. Just a cracking player.

I like Scowen. Not keen on him out wide though.

Just hope he continues to get glowing reports, but no doubt he'll be subjected to the same **** that Hourihane now gets after he too was lauded when playing well.

The only ones in need of stick are those who've done **** all, all season.

Scowen could be Danny's best signing (Winnall, hopefully when fit is front runner).
100%, but not OTT in challenges.

(JYM... good game today, if THAT tackle had been a second later he'd have been sat in the stand for the closing stages).

Hourihane doesn't deserve stick, but he had a stinker today. He needs dropping. We were a lot better when he went off, but O'Sullivan didn't
show much. Smith's corners & free kicks were a mile above. Connor is an ace dead ball man, but he has lost his bottle. Needs a rest, maybe a little break
& hopefully he'll come back the old Connor.

At the number 7 meeting I love the line "we needed more width, I know we have Dale Jennings... (loose quote of the actual words))"

Re: I wonder if a player has ever won Player of the Season at TWO clubs in the same y

Is it not the case that Scowen is playing well, and Hourihane is not?

Is it not that Hourihane is being subject to criticism, rather than ****?

If he is not playing well, what is this board for? To say that he is, when he is not?

I do not think any player should get stick unless he is not trying, and i find it very hard to spot a non-tryer.

You however seem to pick out players to glorify, and then refuse to accept constructive criticism when their standards drop.

The ones in need of stick? It's all right to be good for 4 months or so is it? They can toss it off for the rest of the season?

Who has done **** all, all season?

Think you're getting carried away owd ****, as usual.

I've better things to do of this evening than explain obvious things to another adult.

Is his name pronounced Scowen or Scon though?

He looks like a 'footballer'. By that I mean he isn't pigeon holed as a DM or a AM, just a decent player who can do a bit of everything well.

He does remind me of stumpy, his gait and everything.

On CH, he was getting the plaudits early on in the season when he was scoring but some of us weren't convinced he was what he was being made out to be even then. He has had big flaws in his game all season, talk of championship teams coming in for him in January was always pie in the sky. I really think he's worth working on though, provided he's prepared to work at it.

Yeah, the manager needs to have the coin purse to drop him for a bit. Not testiculate him, but help him get some confidence back & work on his all round game as a midfielder.

    Hardly.

More like the reply of someone who isn't willing to engage in that kind of debate.

I've posted more tonight than I usually do post-match. Any answers you're after will be amongst the threads somewhere. I bid you and t'others a good evening and I'll catch up tomorrow at some point. But right now, I've a missus, a film and some ale to focus on. :)

    You Reds. Etc.

Scowen is fantastic and already my favourite player. Him and Pearson are the best central midfield due (although Scowen didn't play centrally today) that we've had in a long time. Seriously, there will be a lot of Championship teams looking at these as a partnership for next season.

    Mmm...ok.

That's what forums do though - debate. And what does "that kind of debate " mean?

I take it that your mission is to post summat, then not have anyone respond, unless you like it. Then if you don't, you tell em that you've got better things to do than respond.

No wonder you decided PDC would be ok as our manager after all.

    Yeah I'm getting carried away

    :)

Said at half time that he has a remarkable talent of being able to look incredible even when out of position. Looks like he could comfortably play anywhere along the midfield.

Unreal talent, and on first impressions I cannot understand why he hasn't been snapped up sooner.

Yes, when the Wycombe fans were telling us how good he was there was that feeling of having heard it before, but they weren't kidding. He's some player and will play at a higher level than this.

I couldn't be arsed. I was busy. It's really that simple. No offence intended.

    Mission? ******* mission?

Mate, it's a football forum. ******** gets posted. I wouldn't look too much deeper into it than that.

Really? That's new. I'm usually accused of arguing until the cows come home.

Mate, stop stressing over the internet and folk on it.

I've not said that have I? No. I haven't. If I have, feel free to prove me wrong. I'm easy.

I was - initially - very against the idea of Paolo as our manager. For obvious reasons. So much so, I felt it'd end my attending. I then realised a while later that it wouldn't do, because it's my club and I care too much. So I did some research on the bloke, and I no longer see it as bad as I first did. But, and here's the kicker, I still don't want him. I'd not be against it, but I could pick a few others before him. Not that any of it matters because I'm just Joe Bloggs and the club'll do what they want, so all of this is mere internet wastage.

I wish I'd been carried away this aft. Away, and out. To the pub.
