Adkins not in the frame, no 2nd approach for Mark Cooper according to Radio Sheff.

    Bunny's job by the looks.

Unless Scunny do us big time tonight.

Be interesting who we do bring in. Know that Heckingbottom is very well thought of and so is Crossley - wonder if one of the requirements is whoever comes in retains them?

I think you might be on to something there.

An angry little Italian might want a whole new backroom team, which thankfully rules him out.

They said the caretakers would be in for the 3 matches if I remember right?

Fairly sure they will be gauging reactions to stuff on here & on other social media, as well as doing the negotiation behind the scenes...

Reasonable to take your time and find the right person for a key role. It's how properly run clubs would do it. Or we could just appoint the first person we interview who can grunt.

I imagine Mark Cooper & Lee Johnson would as well. Especially seeing as they were identified based on the job they'd done with those people around them.

If so, I've no problem with that. But it means you've got to identify & recruit the right type of man for the top job. Experienced, probably out of work etc.

Unless we decide to wait until the Summer and go all DoF with Burton/Heckingbottom & Crossley as a coaching team?

Probably right, but if the grapevine is true the one I mentioned categorically asked for five of his fellow countrymen to be brought in, and for all of ours to be moved on.

Made it an easy decision for the club to make then.

I might be reading too much into this, but, during his interview on the FLS, Mark Warburton seemed to say about Uwe Rosler and the Barnsley vacancy, "I am sure that he will do a good job there." I might be reading too much, but maybe he meant to say that he would do a good job there. Did he let something slip, or was it just a slip of the tongue. Oh, the tension and rumour!!

I'd be ashamed if we even approached him.

Well from that No7 interview I took it that long term we want the 1st team to play in a way that is then mirrored throughout the Academy age groups etc, so if that is the case I imagine we're after someone who buys that idea and is comfy with the set up as it is. I recall the Chief Exec making a point about getting an 'identity' through the club when Crossley, Hecky etc were put in post. ie a 'Barnsley' identity and also a footballing identity.

Dunno though, I'll see if I can overhear any club 'employees' on their phones spilling da beanz. Again.

I don't really see anything wrong with waiting until the summer if we have to. Burton and Heckingbottom are experienced football people good at developing young players.

With Winnall hopefully coming back I think we will be too strong to be dragged into the relegation mire. If the right candidate isn't available now. Who knows what a few months will bring.

Not wanting to using the B word but a business recruiting for a similar pivotal position would run a fairly exhaustive recruitment and interview process.

Depends which story you believe, but I heard he was definitely interviewed.

Just can't see Patrick allowing that to happen though. Adkins was interviewed as well (if you believe that story)
