I'm with most people. Feels like a thoroughly bizarre decision, to sack a manager and replace him with someone at a Club only 2 points above us. How much has that cost us?
What's the need to appoint right now? Give our own lads Burton & Hecky a go till end of season. They seem to have the backing of the players, as evidenced in two wins on the bounce and also from Lewin Nyatanga in his recent interview.
Maybe he sat down with the board and talked through what he wants for the club and how he's going to drive us forward - maybe they liked what they heard - it's usually how interviews work. The ones moaning the loudest are the ones who wanted Danny out
We have won more games than Oldham this season Oldham only above us because they draw a lot id be more inclined to let Burton have a bit longer if the reason for sacking Danny was to get attendances up I don't see how this appointment works Ill support him if comes in. Nothing against the guy but underwhelmed is a word that leaps to mind
I'm pretty sure he said all the right things in his interview but what due diligence have Ben and Pat done? Its an underwhelming appointment and one that just doesn't tick the boxes specified by Ben after Danny was sacked. It just doesn't make any sense at all. I wasn't in the Danny out gang, I was livid (and still am) that Danny was sacked but although I don't think Johnson is the right man I will support him.
I'd personally wait a while longer to make a decision, who knows Burton and hecky may inspire players to a flicker type surge and get us in the playoffs
Bizarre decision if true. Good luck to the fella and I'll back him but to be honest I'd be tempted to stick with Burton & Hecky until end of season and then take stock.
I can only imagine the same, because his short amount of managerial experience is pretty unremarkable. At the time we first enquired about him they were some way above us in the league, but I really hope that had no bearing, because apart from the top 5 there's only a handful of points between us, so a couple of wins and we're pretty much level with them. I am pretty confused what makes him the answer, but then again I once thought Spackman was, so what do I know. Actually, I know this much. Johnson would have to bring about a pretty quick upturn in fortunes and performances, because if he starts off with a losing streak the crowds will continue to plummet and he won't get much support from the stands. No pressure then.
