Tbf Oldham are massively skint so I believe and have a small and unimpressive squad so the fact Oldham are doing well could be down to good man management or summat.or I could be way off the mark which isn't unusual tbf
Sorry so its a 66% record. Still better than most before him. Think I'm still traumatised after watching United draw with a brutal anti football side in ICT.
Just watched an old interview with him on YouTube. Turns out he owns an AC Cobra - I like him. #petrolhead
Had a double tonight Arabs and Reds.nearly pulled out of it because I thought we wouldn't win.seems I'm destined to always be poor
The main thing I took from the meeting the other night was that there clearly is a long term plan to turn us into a successful championship side and this involves both development of our own players and an ability to talent spot and add value to players off the radar of other clubs to turn them into saleable assets. Gradually over a few years we will then have a team full of assets. To manage this plan a manager must keep us well away from the relegation zone and play to a structured team plan whilst incorporating to some aspects of money all and embracing computerised coded systems of monitoring players. If Johnson is the one I take he he was able to express commitment to this plan and explain how he would move it forward. He seems highly regarded in the fame and has down well on meagre resources at Oldham (though at the same time if we beat Gillingham on Saturday and they lose we go above them). We are also looking to play fast open attractive football and I guess Johnson has explained in interview how he would achieve this, We may not have had many realistic candidates. Conversely it is not an appointment to enthuse the fans or get the floating voters back into Oakwell which was part of the 'business rationale' in sacking Danny. Like most on here if he is our next manager he will have my full support at the same time I don't exactly see the point in sacking Danny if this is the result.
If the choice is a inexperienced boss in lee Johnson , or an inexperienced mark burton .keep mark , he won't cost us any compo and is barnsley through and through . Went tonight and the players played as if they wanted burton
Seems daft to pay 200k compensation to get a new manager which could turn out worse then the caretaker or Danny . But looks a done deal so good luck and he will have my support from tomorrow if he gets job
Iv got a feeling the whole Ched Evans debacle is the main reason Johnson is probably eager to come here, it was obvious Johnson was against the signing.
Not too keen on Johnson but the amount of people wanting Burton now is ridiculous. A week ago we needed a new manager ASAP. Saturday was one of the worse performances of the season, couldnt go tonight due to work so cant comment but keeping him on is not the answer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
