I thought he spoke very well, even if he sounded like a young David Essex! The club have set out their intentions with the three year contract, which should hopefully give him the security to know he can slowly build a team and that he doesn't have to start fetching rubbish loan signings in to try to save his job a few months into it. He certainly seems keen and ambitious, but also seems respectful and grounded. In fact, the only similarity between his press conference and Keith Hill's was that they had both forgotten to pack their razors. I've certainly warmed to him after that, so lets get behind him and give him the time to make his mark. We've just won two on the bounce under the caretakers, but they've both been at the club for some time and knew the players, so a young manager from outside the club is going to need a little longer to settle into things. But I certainly didn't watch that and get the impression that the lad's a loser. Far from it. Hopefully he can either get Winnall back or a decent new striker in (we do have a loan space left don't we?), or better still can get Lita or Hemmings looking like a footballer, and you never know.
All good but he has, based upon the WSB meeting three objectives; Open attractive expansive football style that can be run through the club Play young players to ensure we have saleable assets in the squad Challenge at the top of the table Some of those might sometimes be incompatible with each other But still, good luck
behave thissen tha nivver heard a word tha went all gushy and girlie and weak at the knees.... c'mon admit it I certainly did hubba hubba
I don't know very much about the guy, but I thought he spoke very well and seems to know what he wants from the players and club
I guess I'm 2 weeks behind some others having been away for two weeks and still trying to understand what the club is actually trying to do. My anger, disillusionment and deep concern at the way the club is seemingly run is distorting my view of this appointment just now. I didn't hear anything in the interview but words that sounded very Bennish. I know very little about him other than him being the manager at Oldham during the Ched Evans saga. If he had a part in wanting to bring Evans on board at Oldham... i will never warm to him, there are some things more important than kicking a bag of wind into a net. If he didn't and it was under duress from the Chairman and owners, then I wish him all the luck in the world, because with our set up, I truly believe any manager needs that more than any other commodity.
Methinks we need buckets of ice water in Redfearns from now on, to chuck over Fiona as she reads the manager's column. Actually, Fi, can I just point out that we were both at Holgate before he was even born!
As far as I'm aware it was the chairman's decision to bring in Ched Evans. From the interviews LJ gave you could tell he was uncomfortable with the situation Sent from my SM-G800F using Forum Runner
I'll have to show a picture to our lass then, because Jose's her heartthrob too. What with him looking the spitting image of me and all!* *sarcasm. I look more like John Profumo!
Better looking than a lot of our past managers although I'm still not sure I'd **** him. Haven't heard his interview yet, so still judging him on looks.
Wasn't my first choice but having seen his Sky Interview he does appear to have something about him. No fool, handled himself well and although very young looks like he has presence. Bet there's some relieved lads in the dressing room that it's him and not Di Canio mind. Good luck Lee Johnson and here 's the advice I got from an eminent QC when starting out - don't **** up.
Will support him as I usually do with new managers which Is getting to be a bit of a habit last few years. Speaks well got a lot out of the limited resources at Oldaham so players seem to work for him. Thought some of the texts to dee dar were hostile Imo hope that's not going to be the norm dissapointment doesn't mean offend.
Best looking manager we've ever had, slightly more handsome than Bobby Collins. Quick edit: I've just read Jays post..... Beat me to the queer post of the night.
