It would probably be quite an unwanted title!

Me & some mates were talking after playing footy 2nt how **** our respective teams were, and it got me thinking if any player had suffered by playing for us all.

there are probably worse counties to have played for all the teams there, such as Devon, but at least there are only 3 of them.

Here's a challenge : anyone to come up with a county with 5 or more league clubs, collectively worse than the shower of **** in SY!

Not since WW2. There's only been 27 players, post 1945, that have played for both Sheffield clubs. Three of them have also played for Barnsley - Keith Treacy, Carl Bradshaw and Chris O'Grady. Chris O'Grady has also played for Rotherham, so he is the nearest.

There are only 5 with 5 or more teams: South Yorkshire, Lancashire, West Midlands, Greater Manchester and Greater London and three of them aren't proper counties in my book, if I had a book.

Lancashire has Accrington, Morecambe, Fleetwood, Blackpool, Preston, Blackburn and Burnley, which is pretty ****.

I was thinking Manchester & Liverpool were in Lancashire, but if they are not anymore, then yes, the remaining clubs are probably, as a bunch, worse than us lot. It's grim up north.

    None in the Football League

Gordon Owen also played for Chesterfield, so 5 of the "Big Six" as Radio Hallam used to call us.

Liverpool, Everton and Tranmere are classed as Merseyside. Man Utd, Man City, Bolton, Wigan, Oldham, Rochdale, Bury and Stockport, whatever league they're in, are all Greater Manchester.

Personally, I think West Yorkshire is the biggest load of ***** hawks. Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield - what a set of cnuts.

I'll always remember that hatrick he scored against Oxford, I think he bagged a few that season. Dare say you'll know how many if you care to share. 21 is in my head for some reason.
