I really don't want Rochdale to get relegated they have some fantastic genuine fans who deserve some success. In fact despite Hill, who I have little time for, I hope they regroup and push towards the play offs. If ever the term long suffering could be used it's about Rochdale fans.
I wouldn't want KH here at oakwell but I dont have any bad feelings towards him, he just wasn't the right fit. Lot of admiration for Rochdale fans, MCFC and MUFC on the door step so it must be hard not to be swayed to one of the bigger sides, lower league fans who support their local side are the finest football supporters in the world for me.
If they needed to beat us on the last day of the season to stay up they'd bring about 500 traveling fans
If Rochdale stay up on goal difference on the last day they've still had a decent season given how small there budget is & having to sell Done in January
Don't care for Rochdale one way or the other. Actually, it's good to see a team out performing their budget and proving it's not all about the money. But I don't like Keith Hill, even if he has helped Rochdale achieve some success. My dislike for him has nothing to do with his record while he was with us, he was poor for all but a couple of months, but we've had plenty like that and I'm aware of the restrictions under which he worked. However, the things he said about our town and our club during his time in charge were not fitting of someone in that position. He should have been promoting us at every available opportunity not running us down. I'll not be wasting energy wishing for his and Rochdale's downfall, I don't care that much, but if they are relegated, I dare say I'll have a chuckle about it with the lads in the pub and a couple of pints in his relegation honour.
Be nice if WSB could get an interview with him. Just to see what he has to say for himself after the fact. Would rake in a bit for charity on the back of that interview, maybe he would do one because of that?
No, just No not ever !!!! Cant do with the man.His fecking voice annoys the **** out of me. Same with every bastid from Lancashire.
I saw an interview, (whitey put it on here, the **** ) he was going on about how the fans have got too much expectations of him ! Nowt to do with him spouting off about how good he is or owt like that , just the fans !
Code: Really? We really aren't the ones who care for boasting about our support, we know it's pretty rubbish for a variety of reasons, but those who do go are very loyal. Always in the top two or three in the country for percentage of home fans who travel away. Yes, that might be because our home crowds are poor, but don't pretend our fans wouldn't care enough to turn out if a game mattered. This thread is special. Over TWO YEARS since Hill left. Anyway, back to the sensible world. A month ago we had an outside chance of the playoffs like half the division, we stood out because we were full of goals and teams often couldn't cope with that high energy approach. Done's departure hit us hard on both fronts, he's the best in the division at being a constant pest. But we accept these sales, or at least I do. I do wish Hill would pick our best side instead of one to deal with the opposition, but that's nothing new. I've always seen no reason to think he's above criticism and his shortcomings have been discussed to death amongst the realistic fans at Dale, but we're not stupid to think we could have a better manager. We can't. Right now we need a couple of wins just to settle things down a bit. You need only look at yourselves to see what effect that can have. Ridiculously if we won our games in hand the playoffs look a real possibility, but I'm under no illusions that our season has changed. Listen to Cotterill yesterday, we're seen as one of the better sides in the division by those doing well. Though while I don't necessarily agree, I can see where they're coming from.
Spot on mate, I'll be honest I'm not a fan of Hill but I think it's brilliant what he's done with Rochdale and I certainly don't wish relegation on you lads, like others have said Rochdale fans have always come across like a good bunch to me.
Well said chap I and I agree. Hope you can regroup and move forwards. I'd hate for you to get relegated. I'm no fan of the Rochdale cowboy but acknowledge he has done a good job. When we sold one of his better players mid season he was unable to adapt but he's probably learned lessons from that.
Those couple of wins required are in the bag. Last day could be interesting. But it certainly won't have anything to do with relegation.
