Just looking that the thai bloke who's bought Wednesday paid around 38 million quid for them so that made me wonder what our club is worth?

To the right person I think Pat would accept £1

The problem we have is that Pat is very choosy in who he considers the right person

But I would love to see someone with mega bucks take over at Barnsley just to see how far this club could go

Much of that 37 million is debt that he's cleared. The valuation of the club has varied between 10 and 12 million depending which journo you trust.
I would imagine Patrick would want half of that, for BFC.

I thought that PC had said about a year ago that he wanted 1million for the club and a further 6million if we were promoted to the premier league to cover what he had spent. Sure that someone on here had posted something about it. Obviously the 2nd figure may have changed now if he's put more money in.

Mr Cryne has offered to give it to supporters who have a solid & independently assessed business case.

If you've got the money to keep it running you could buy it for the token sum of £1

It would depend on how much of the money Mr Cryne has given the club that he wanted back. The club itself is worth next to nothing. It has no assets just future liabilities by the way of player contracts. We're operating at a loss, we owe money, so in reality it's worth the token £1 that failing businesses tend to be sold for. However, the club also owes Mr Cryne a substantial amount of money. He's on record as saying that if a supporter's consortium could provide a viable business plan, he'd give them the club, but that won't be the same if a person or group with no connection to the club make an offer, intent on running the club as a business and ultimately to make a profit. In such circumstances I would imagine our owner will sell at a price which gets his investment back, if he were to sell under those circumstances at all. Just as any of us would.

This is the attitude that,s made me fall out of love with football. Where it,s who can attract a billionaire and buy success. Just a guess but who will win premiership, Scottish premier etc. next year?. You might as well at the beginning of the season say "who,s got the most money?" and give them the league title.Tuesday nights in front of 4,000 seeing Alan Little wall bottom someone seems a lifetime away. Football R.I.P.

Can't imagine we'd cost much to buy as we don't own much. Now if the football club still owned their own land you'd be talking alot.

No mention of a partial ownership model a la Swansea though which would be more achievable.

It's up to the Trust now I suppose to see how viable an option it is. It's on public record Mr Cryne making that offer.

Was it intimated it would only be the Trust ?

Or could competent people put together a plan ? ;)

Not necessarily, can be done by not spending more than you earn.
