some of you on here aren`t helping. Didn`t we press and close down in games under Danny Wilson, didn`t we put in some good performances, did folk on here get carried away when when Sam and Cole were notching. Or do we just remember the last few poor games under Wilson and turn into his whole time at the club being *****. Be feckin honest at least.
Haven't seen a performance all season to match last night's energy and commitment. I revere Danny as mush as the next man, but I'll not turn a blind eye to the difference in quality.
Gillingham home. Bradford home. Bristol City home. Sheffield United and Rochdale away. All much better and more entertaining last night. Bugger my memories come back.
You right your memory isnt very good!! Get over wilson he has gone....create a positive thread about the game rather than a negative! Oh and we didnt have a few bad games we had **** loads of bad games under him! Ye he got us to the dreamland donkeys years ago but move on!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'd rank last nights display as very similar to the Oldham victory (over LJ's lads). If you've not seen a performance 'all season' to match last nights energy and commitment, I can only assume you weren't at Oakwell when we beat Bradford, drew with Bristol City, and that you missed the Sheff Utd and Rochdale away games. Probably the best four games of the season for me. I enjoyed the 5-0 cup win over Burton too, Winnall was summat else that afternoon.
We did. But over 14 months, that was the exception rather than anywhere remotely near the norm. Gillingham, Bradford and Bristol City at home, and Rochdale and Sheff United away this season. 5 out of 29 games.
Was at Bradford and Bristol home games, Whitey. Bristol was fair enough, but Bradford were pretty woeful (and we still allowed them to take the lead). I don't go away. You can pick out better performances, but there have been too many abject ones. Danny was, and still is a true club legend. But to my eyes he was always going through the motions in his second spell.
The point is last night was the 'norm' of the other games where we won or lost narrowly in what were, by and large, dull and uneventful games. I'm glad we won Johnson has my 100% support but I'm not going to pretend we have suddenly started playing like the Dutch team of the 1970s. Johnson needs time to make his mark and change things round. He hasn't done that yet.
Nowt to do with his past for me fella. I put last few poor games by the way but thee keep on going OTT. As far as posting positive stuff, I do, but the theme of the morning seems to be difference in performance from Wilson to since his departure.
When we lose, we're *****. When we win, we're the bestest team ever. Can't comment on last night, didn't go. Only seen us beat Crewe in this little run but by the sounds of it performances are nothing like what we saw earlier this year with Hourihane/Cole/Winnall in full flow. I really enjoyed watching us until January.
I think the increased energy and commitment, and the higher pressing game holds out the hope of better to come. And by the way, if anyone saw Tommy Wright putting them through their paces in the warm-up, you can begin to see how it has come about!
