Not in my lifetime. I am 62 and have been watching the Reds for over 50 years. I hope that we can get back into the second tier soon though and make a better fist of it than last time.
I can almost promise you 2nd tier is coming soon, don't know how we will do though. Probably what we needed this temp step back.
I dont think it will be long.before were back in championship I trust pat to get us out of here. Just hope we can compete when the time comes
We ought to be able to get back to the championship. Stating there, however, is getting more difficult. We are probably domed to yo-yoing from 2nd to 3rd tier and back again. At least this way we will get a fair amount of excitement. Although, I would much rather be in the bottom half of the championship than in the top half of this league.
Disagree in a way I used to hate not been able to compete and staying up by fine margins every season.
Yeah but be honest how much did you celebrate when we stayed up in the great escape! Football is a strange sport, and that night I celebrated like we'd won the cup. And that is what I support barnsley for. For those moments I will never forget. You just never know when you're going to have a magic moment like that. It could be getting promotion from league 1, avoiding relegation from the championship in dramatic fashion, beating Chelsea, Last minute goals at anfield or even just beating Sheffield United in L1. Barnsley will always give us fans moments of magic. No matter where we are in the pyramid. And it's those moments that mean we put up with the months of dross in between. Supporting a big team must be *****!
Yer was still a great season under flicker not to be forgot we did the virtually impossible to stay up shame he couldnt build on that sucsess
I don't think we could get in to the Premier League again with things the way they are at the moment. - We'd firstly need a massive amount of luck with signings, ie drop on the kind of strikers that Burnley picked up relatively cheaply. - Actually be able to hang on to our better players long enough to build a strong team. - Get more people from the town to support the club from inside Oakwell, there are thousands of people who follow the club but never attend games.
Look at what blackpool achived under holloway when they were promoted they had luck with charlie adam and other players. But we would need luck and/or some good kids to come through academy. If we got back to the prem support wouldnt be a problem oakwell would be full with s/t holders
Funny the kind of conversations a few wins can trigger! We'll be talking about drifting back into obscurity when it all goes t*ts up on Saturday!
