James cryne who is just a supporter and nowt else despite the disgusting lies going round was made a director of bfc last week.
Patrick has been pestering him for ages to be on the board did you not listen to him at the number 7?
Re: Patrick has been pestering him for ages to be on the board Isn't there a difference between pestering someone and doing it? I could pester a lass for a date but its not quite as big news as announcing we've got married
all I am meaning is that it comes as no surprise to me at all. Perhaps being groomed for when Patrick wants to retire
That reminds me. Here is what PC said earlier in the season. "In preparation for this season, we are fortunate to have Ben Mansford working alongside Danny Wilson for their first full campaign. I am also delighted to have the active involvement of my son, James. Instead of just the usual scouting networks, they have taken an analytical approach, looking under the radar for young talent that can help us score nearer to 70 goals a season, instead of last season's woeful 44. This has led us to the recruitment of Conor Hourihane, Luke Berry, Sam Winnall and Kane Hemmings. In all this I must praise Danny Wilson. He is the most open minded of any manager I have ever met." Unless I'm mistaken does that not quite clearly say that Ben and Danny WITH THE ACTIVE INVOLVEMENT OF JAMES were taking an analytical approach and looking under the radar to identify players?
His ability to keep the club running should owt happen to his Dad? As far as I'm concerned this is sensible succession planning and a clear indication of the Cryne family's intent to continue their stewardship of the club into the foreseeable future. I take this as a positive and welcome move. Others will think differently.
Its Patrick`s toy he can do what the hell he likes with it. When asked abart fans on the board he said they needed to bring something to the table, some expertise didn`t he? Did he also state James is just a fan?
One day they may appoint someone to the board who has some previous professional football experience (either playing, coaching or managing). Obviously this appointment is nothing to with that side of things. It seems that as the Cryne family are to be our long term owners (the club is pretty much unsaleable now the assets have been hived off), it would make sense for James to get some boardroom experience. Come the future, it will be better a fan with a large inheritance & some "work experience" in charge, than some easily guessed alternatives. Welcome to the board James. Don't forget we want to be in Champions League within 5 years, and playing Sheff Wed in the final within 6.
Dunno what to say. That statement seems incompatible with what was said at the No 7, but Mr Cryne was adamant, so, well, I dunno what to make of it. I hope the people who have questioned why Dyson pushed the issue can now understand why he did so though. Not sure there's anything to be gained from pursuing it further like, we got our answer, but maybe Dyson doesn't look as obsessed any more.
I thought he was right to ask the question. But that became the main theme of the evening afterwards. But then, I'm pretty sure the whole point of Patrick doing that evening was to get folk talking about anything other than their sacking of Danny Wilson. Which worked. Because it then became all about the Stones fee, summat Patrick himself mentioned without any prompting. He's not daft.
"The Board" can mean a couple of different things, especially in small limited companies like BFC. Officially it's the board of directors ie. All the people registered at Comapnies House as directors of that company. Unoffically it can include shareholders, owners, co-owners, senior execs that are not directors etc. pretty much anyone who is invited by those that hold the power. i guess our "board meetings" are the latter as Pat & Ben are not directors of BFC to my knowledge?
Yoh know what. Youd be the first to kick off if the club blew 50k on a data analyst to set up the algorithm to help spot and develop potential or however it was phrased rather than letting jimmy do it for some pear drops and a bit of sxtra pocket money from his old man.
