A 32 year old striker with a ratio of 1 goal every 4-5 games. That's quite an odd loan signing, especially when we're playing one up front and Winnall is about to come back from injury. Still, like every other BFC player, hope he does the business and good luck to the lad.
About as useful a scorer as Barry Conlon's right foot, but a physical presence who knows the level as well as anyone. Just hope Johnson is aware of how good Winnall is, and Ibhere is just being brought in to be another option.
Johnson knows how good Winnall is. Every interview I've heard from him praises Winnall about his ability and when Radio Sheffield interviewed him the other day after the Coventry game and pre Walsall, the interviewer was in his ear constantly about Winnall's ability
Seems weird to me. A big useless lump according to a mate who witnessed his displays regularly. Still in Johnson we trust
Best of luck to the lad, but am I allowed to say that I'm not that excited about a player brought in on loan from one of the teams in the relegation places in this division who, at that 32, scores even less regularly than I do? And I'm 42 and married!
Great replacement for Lita. Big, strong, quick and works his ******** off all over the park. According to Oldham/Colchester fans.
Great? I hope so, but I can't help but be a bit sceptical about that. He's started one more game than Hemmings this season. Hemmings has scored 5 and he's got 2. Everyone thinks Hemmings is wnak.
I'll admit it does seem a tad strange on the surface of it but (and I know we're on a good run) I wouldn't mind seeing us playing 2 up front and having more than just Waring in the box. We played well against Coventry but if I'm honest it seemed like we'd only score with a wonder goal or a set piece. Turns out we did. At times it was frustrating because we'd get into decent positions and then have nobody in the box. I think this big lad can do a job for us
I reckon LJ has seen we can put quality balls in the box (hourihane in particular) and the recent stat that were the most prolific club in the league from set pieces bear testimony to that. This lad will have been brought in for getting on the end of em and is useful also at defending set plays. Just a thought like...
