That's not the answer that I heard. Be nice to know we are getting "x millions" but we aren't going to hear the precise figure are we.
He was meaning we can celebrate through pride. Raise a glass to a local lad. If there was a clause he could just say yes without giving any specifics. Sounded sheepish to me. Maybe I'm just being cynical?
From Radio Sheffield. Ben said we could celebrate in Stones is sold. That tells me that there is one.
Not sure why he would say that we can celebrate his next big money move if it doesn't affect us. To be honest I will follow his career with interest but I don't really care if he ends up at Barcelona or Bury. Be really good if our club have done the sensible thing. I think we have. Just infuriating not knowing for sure. Other clubs announce details so we should have
The way I heard it was that he was stating that Barnsley would benefit substantially if John Stones moved on upwards in football. If he didn't mean that, he was being deliberately deceitful and trying to mislead loyal fans, which would be unforgiveable. I don't think Ben is daft enough to set himself up for that.
Sounded like classic avoidance of the question to me. If Barnsley fans want to raise a glass if Stones gets a move to a big club. We shall see. Why he can't just say yes but can't divulge details is beyond me.
I missed what he said but I imagine he's just worried about confidentiality and so is being vague. Sounds positive though.
They were happy to disclose the **** fee, but can't disclose whether there's a sell on clause? I'm with you, mate. It's a bit strange.
Conveniently placed in just this contract, and just this clause. Hear about them all the time so why the hush hush on this one?
I reckon Ben would be more concerned about breaching the clause than Patrick and a bit more damage could be done by divulging this now (effect on future transfer of him) than disclosing the fee of 2.2m Frustrating that no one asked at number 7!
PC told a recorded meeting exactly how much he was sold for a couple of weeks ago without anyone even asking him. Doesn't the confidentiality clause cover downstairs in the No 7?
