I wanted to post this because I've seen various articles on here that are scathing of some of our fans today. I can't say I witnessed all the apparent bad behaviour, but I saw enough to suggest a fair few people had drunk far too much. However, I think it's important to praise the majority today who gave the team tremendous backing, non-stop vocal support with a great variety of songs. That was the loudest I've heard us lot since Bramall Lane and I'm sure the players were spurred on by our backing.

I understand that people didn't want to have to stand and sing, I understand people hated the congestion in the gangways and no, not every song was appropriate, but overall the support was immense. Some of our younger fans need to learn how to behave, but they also happen to be the main source of vocal backing every game. I don't think we'll ever please everybody at away games, for every person upset at the unreserved seating, there'll be another delighted that the singers could stand at the back, families further forward etc. But anyway, I'll probably get flak for this post, but I wanted to give a balanced view and emphasise the excellent support given by most Barnsley fans today.

Pretty much agree with everything you've written. In 2,500 pissed up people having fun you're bound to find a ******** or three.

Agree mate, good support. Important to remember it's only a minority that misbehave.

This pretty much sums up my experience of watching Barnsley away over the years. Things are never perfect, we have a few plebs watching us, but the majority are well behaved who give the players good backing.

Fantastic support yes they were a few people who had drank too much but if you can't get watching us now you never will

Great atmosphere and I didn't see any trouble

I was sat behind the drunkest woman I've ever seen which I found even funnier

People been to work all week they deserve to enjoy themselves

Some fans need to chill out , some right miserable sods about. Shame on those lads who have a right good drink and follow BFC all around the Country , have a good sing and a laugh in the match, want to stand up and hardly miss a game. They should all stick to 2 pints , sit down all match and sing come on you Reds only when we get a corner and are 1-0 down with a minute to go.

I don't think anyone is objecting to that. I think it's people smashing chairs and throwing them at opposing fans that people are objecting to.

Yeah, or the dirty little gits who were spitting forwards from the back row onto other fans or throwing tab ends during the game.

Never saw that tbh , where did that happen, didn't think there were any away fans near the away end.

I've got to say I didn't see a bit of trouble but I was fairly close to the front.

I saw one fan dragged out, no idea what he'd done.

I don't believe there weren't enough seats as there were plenty of individual seats scattered around, I think it was more a case of there been no seats for mates to sit together.

Enjoyed our support today, thought we made plenty of noise.

I was hoping the 'here's to you Conor Hourihane, Barnsley love you more than you will know' would get sung when his backside curled that beauty into the bottom corner.
