Firstly there is a whacking great section in the corner blocked off, but we didn't really need it. More importantly though, and this is for those who complained they had to stand in gangways, there are LOADS of empty seats towards the front on both sides. The problem is obvious - those who complained actually meant there wasn't a seat towards the back where they wanted to sit. The stewards should have got hold of this early on and ushered a few hundred down to the front. Reason - H&S, comfort of other fans, call it what you will. The fact is there were plenty of seats for everyone. If you choose to turn up five minutes from kick off, or even after kick off, you have no reason to complain
Will add some notes as I go along (maybe) 5 mins = Lockwood did quite a vicious and obvious body check on O'Sullivan and deservedly got booked. It was as plain as you like yet the idiot stands there with his arms out in "What me, ref?" pose. Deservedly sent off later for exactly the same offence on Scowen
12 mins - really like this corner huddle business. Why have we never tried it before. Good delivery and Cranie inside the 6 yard box free, but he got underneath it
It's still 0-0 but I reckon we will get on top pretty soon. All Oldham can do is trip or body check - no football at all from them
21 min - another example of the "Lalkovic problem". He hurdles one challenge well and then, instead of carrying on down the wing he tries to cut inside, and loses it. Becoming all too common that. He looked so good at first but his form has dipped badly. Time to rest him I think.
Who gives a flying fu'ck everyone saw game and got home safe so what's it matter ? They should never have made it sit where tha wants but they did
32 min - yet another example of the free kick taker's art. The way CH whipped that in was just brilliant and I think Waring got a flick on which might explain why the keeper didn't hold it. Great followup from Nyatanga though. 1-0 from our only shot on goal so far
I do, to be honest. There was a lot of aggression in that top corner caused by people standing up and refusing to sit down when asked politely. I saw the most evil looking face I have ever seen at one point in the first half. I was praying that the cretin would burst a blood vessel because he certainly looked close to it. Just don't understand it at all.
It was someone in the row in front who had the confrontation. I know better than to pick fights with morons. I would have just moved. I suppose it never occurs to people like you that some people like to use their seat and only go to a match for the enjoyment of seeing us play. I suppose you go for the aggro, do you?
39 mins - after all that time without a goal from open play CH final gets a flukey one and then runs down the touchline cupping his ear to the Oldham fans. Presumably they had been giving him some stick. Anyway at 2-0 I really thought we are on our way to another win. Oldham look second best everywhere
No not at all, never been in trouble with plod, what I don't get is how blokes stood up in end gangway can stop people sitting down unless they where in the 5 seats right at the end
41 mins - hmm one of those goals that we were conceding regularly early in the season. Poor attempt at a tackle on the wing by JOS I think and twenty seconds later it was in the net. Disappointing that
Look....the point is that the guy could have moved down near the front where there were empty seats, along with his mates. He was in the end block, maybe ten rows from the back and six in from the gangway. I have no problem with standing at football but everyone has to do it, not just the selfish ones. I get up with the rest of them when we are bearing down on goal, but why stand up to watch the keeper taking a goal kick? It's something that needs addressing, but probably never will be. Then when he asks lobotomy head in front to sit down he gets a face full of spit and bile. Pathetic behaviour.
Remember when the Ponty end was rebuilt it was unreserved seating, never a problem, can't see all the fuss.
45+3 min - finally a glimpse of the "old" CH. Strides forward and hits a screamer from 25 yards. Top of the bar and out. Not a great first half, but at least we are in front again. Should be 2-0 though, or more.
I have recently been sitting in the Disabled Stand at Oakwell. Not only do you sometimes have a restricted view of the Ponte end goal mouth you get people who are in the Beckett Stand standing up all the time and we can't do owt about it cos we are inside. They don't give a sh..t about blocking our view.
Really sorry to hear that Mr Bellamy. Pig ignorance, nothing less. And people say "why should I sit down?" It's a case of "I'll do what I want, and nothing you can do about it"
60 mins - finally get SSW on instead of Lalcovic. That should be the form for the rest of the season now. SSW to start and ML only come on if someone is tiring. It's curious that both of our midfield terriers have looked quiet in this game - I thought the same on Saturday. Not complaining because neither of them owe us anything
