    Some folk put weight on easier than others, even footballers. He obviously struggles with it, maybe not helped by the fact he's not playing much. Wonder if he suffers from a touch of depression? Wife had a kid recently didnt she?

    If it is depression the club should help him and I'd have every sympathy. But there's nowt to suggest it is that, and for a professional footballer to be in the shape he is in is an absolute disgrace. When you consider the amount of calories that training will use he must be chugging lard milkshakes to maintain his bulk.

    I think it's a safe assumption that his diet is crap. How else is he so big? He'll get support if he puts the effort in, but if he can't even keep himself in decent shape for the money he's on it's a shocking lack of discipline and professionalism.
