My view as well but if the reported behavior of Clarkson is true the BBC really had no choice Be interesting to see if the other 2 stay or go for the next series and if they do who they get as a replacement From James Mays comments I think he is likely to go even if he is offered a new contract so most likely in my opinion is all 3 will go and do something on another channel and the BBC will need 3 new presenters and to completely re-invent the show
I recon they'll go Netflix. They're popular overseas too, so Netflix seems the obvious choice. It's the future of broadcasting, and you can see why. Fantastic service for £7 a month or whatever it is.
exactly, its last of the summer wine for petrol heads, imho the show will go the same way as 5th gear
The show is now dead. They were the show. I don't give a **** about cars, don't really like Clarkson to be honest, but he created a brilliant show and I watched it regularly. It's probably gone on too long now, coming up with new ideas that try to top what they've done before is difficult, but the BBC made so much money from it they kept commissioning new series and paying Clarkson, May and Hammond ridiculous amounts of money to host it. I can almost guarantee that the new Top Gear will be almost unwatchable it'll be that bad because every other car show other than Clarkson's Top Gear has been *****. It's crap subject matter that few care about. People care about being entertained. These three did that, the next lot up will fail. The BBC should kill it before they embarrass themselves and prove beyond any doubt that the person they fired was the one that made it work.
I think you are right Also from the comments of May and Hammond I am not at all sure they would continue even if offered new contracts May for example Asked if he will stay he said: "Well I don't want to talk about that too much. But I think we're very much, the three of us as a package, it works for very complicated reasons that a lot of people don't fully understand, so that will require a lot of careful thought." and Hammond Richard Hammond @RichardHammond · 2h 2 hours ago Gutted at such a sad end to an era. We're all three of us idiots in our different ways but it's been an incredible ride together. I Dont think May and Hammond would want to continue with a show that had lost its magic - I think they were a package and it would have been difficult to replace any of them - but there is no doubt that the most irreplaceable is Clarkson. Interesting quote from Lord Hall He said: "The BBC must now look to renew Top Gear for 2016. This will be a big challenge and there is no point in pretending otherwise. I have asked Kim Shillinglaw to look at how best we might take this forward over the coming months. I have also asked her to look at how we put out the last programmes in the current series. Lucky Kim Shillinglaw - wouldnt want to be given that challenge - how can they possibly show the last programs ?
Re: just you watch another station snap him up Is that before or after he gets charged with assault and affray
either matey he sells. Think about it , music for instance... the BBC have banned many records for whatever reason.. sexually explicit, bad language, political... whatever.... then Lo and behold said record is number one in the charts. When it is controversial the whole world wants to know why and wants a look in. That's the sad facts. How many times have you seen the disgusting 'Vultures' goinf to look at a crime scene or a crash scene.... Clarkson is now made for life.
