just watch the other TV companies come banging on his door in the very near future. he has it made now.... its often been said that there's no such thing as 'Bad press'
He's not been sacked just not renewed his contract, given the BBC gave him £8m for his share in the company that makes the programme ,even though the BBC had the program originally I'd say he's already got it made
If they could get May and Hammond then it doesn't matter what they call the show it will be a ratings winner on whatever channel it's on. I'm not sure May and Hammond would be willing to jump off the BBC Gravy Train though.
so basically you are saying "Top Gear" is his and any TV company who makes an offer can have it and his team.... the man is not as daft as some on here make out.
so they would not jump off the garvy train to the promised land of SKY then LOL ... you will be daft when you grow up... and lets face it the trio of " Jezza, May and the Hamster" IS Top Gear end of... there is a copy cat version on one of the other stations and its no where near as entertaining or funny.
Re: so they would not jump off the garvy train to the promised land of SKY then It'll be Netflix they go to, I'm sure of it. Old fashioned broadcasting looks like nothing in comparison.
Re: so they would not jump off the garvy train to the promised land of SKY then The bloke verbally then physically attacked another human being over a trivial matter. Are you suggesting that this should be overlooked because he's very good at his job? Although a totally different concept Jimmy Saville had the same pedestal whereby he was too big to sack/upset. If he's done wrong he should be sacked/not resigned and criminal investigations should be brought against him. PS IMO he's a fekin vile man whom I have no time for although I admit that to those who liked his presenting he was very good at his job, BUT
Re: so they would not jump off the garvy train to the promised land of SKY then i'd love to see how bad he actually 'attacked' this person, has he given him a reyt hiding or just been shouting and balling then maybe shoved him,was he provoked?,i mean john prescott lamped a bloke full in the kite and he's now a lord.
Re: so they would not jump off the garvy train to the promised land of SKY then To be fair to 'two jags' his punch was a reaction to some thug attacking him by pelting him with an egg at close range - I think it was a justifiable reaction under the circumstances. Clarkson allegedly punched a colleague over a piece of steak. I understand that things happen but in an industry like the BBC they couldn't allow this to go unpunished. I've worked in an environment where flare ups were common and they were dealt with very differently but you can't really compare the Army with a corporation like the BBC.
Prescott is a bully as much as Clarkson. Difference being one had minimal education and the other ex-public school (Repton). The latter should have learned to keep his reactions to a minimum, without acting like a yob.
Re: so they would not jump off the garvy train to the promised land of SKY then We'll the producer ended up going to hospital and all witnesses say it was unprovoked
Re: so they would not jump off the garvy train to the promised land of SKY then The report, published on Wednesday, revealed the full extent of the attack at the Simonstone Hall hotel in North Yorkshire, where the programme team had travelled for a location shoot on 4 March. MacQuarrie concluded that Tymon was “subject to an unprovoked physical and verbal attack” by Clarkson, during which he was “struck, resulting in swelling and bleeding to his lip”. The attack “lasted around 30 seconds and was halted by the intervention of a witness”, and Tymon “offered no retaliation”. It said Tymon was “shocked and distressed by the incident” and “drove to a nearby A&E department for examination”. The report added that Clarkson verbally abused Tymon “on more than one occasion – both during the attack and subsequently inside the hotel – and contained the strongest expletives and threats to sack him. “The abuse was at such volume as to be heard in the dining room, and the shouting was audible in a hotel bedroom.” Would anybody on here put up with that at work, I know if he tried it with me it wouldn't be only Clarkson doing the punching.
Re: so they would not jump off the garvy train to the promised land of SKY then clarkson is a lovely person. just wanted to clear that up.
All the whiter than white folk on here can moan all they like, most of it is because of where he lives and his near neighbour. So in a word Politics. The BBS doesn't like him because he lives near Cameron. Ffs. I think he's a superb broadcaster and makes top gear. James May often calls him a ****, but he knows his producing and presenting skills. He will move on and make umpteen millions more. While the BBS screams for him to be culled.
Regardless of whether any other TV company come in and give him a massive deal, the BBC have done the right thing getting rid of someone who verbally and physically abused a co-worker
I think clarkson is brilliant. I love too gear and I love him on it. I think his column is funny too (though I rarely read it). Oh and I didn't know he lives near Cameron either. But i, along with everyone else, know that he deserves sacking for hitting a colleague at work. That's nothing to do with politics its just common sense and decency
