That I don't think ANYBODY has got anything against his family and in particular his son. I firmly believe that people just want transparency and m statement saying he was actively involved then strongly denying it isn't in my opinion transparent. Joining the board and then leaving it, again without any statement or clarification isn't transparent. Be transparent, tell ALL fans what you hope James' future is with regards BFC, tell us ALL what his involvement is now and I'm pretty sure he would be welcomed with open arms. The only thing the fans don't like is misleading statements and statements that from the outside appear to contradict themselves. That is where confusion sets in and when confusion sets in you understandably get people misunderstanding the situation and subsequently get discussion and questions put to you
bit confused by this tbh. didn't patrick absolutely clarify all this at the No. 7? have i missed some new info?
According to Bfcmatchdaydrinkers he said this tonight 'Cryne spoke at length about recently views of a few about his ownership and son. Fans present reassured it was minority getting family down.' I was just saying that nobody has anything against his son we just wanted answers to very confusing statements in the past. And to be honest I'm not sure the no. 7 thing cleared everything up because they don't appear (unless im missing something) to match up to the previous statement from PC in the programme but maybe that just me
Can I be clear his view was not directly about the no7 event. Things like abuse on Twitter and to his son on the train are not what any family should receive.
James is a top lad. And clever enough not to take to heart the idiocy induced comments from a few wallies on a train. I think.
Cryne pointed out his son is a successful man himself with a property portfolio as well as studying for his masters degree. Both James and Olivia receiving lots of abuse. Olivia travels from leicester for each game as a fan
It won't but everyone there tonight were clear cryne family needs to recognise 99.9% of fans want his family to continue being our lifeline.
You've hit the nail on the head SuperTyke, don't think anyone would be bothered if he'd said his son has had involvement in some way as long as the manager made the final decision on transfers (as you'd expect anywhere from any member of staff). Patrick probably doesn't realise what you can find out from public records on the internet within a few minutes these days...not that I'm a big fan of this, it seems privacy is a concept of the past.
the criticism of the cryne's isn't limited to idiots on a train though mate. one day he'll chalk $hit on it and walk away. he's invested more money than probably any barnsley fan will do in their lifetime. but still not good enough for some
Going to try and write it up now. Hope I can do what was said justice. Did feel rather concerned about what he was saying and his future at the club at one point. Got a long and interesting answer to your houses on the carpark question also.
I think he deserves a lot of criticism. He also deserves a lot of respect. But abuse? And abuse to his son and partner? Some folk are strange, pal.
Sitting next to Cryne tonight, it's clear to see the attack on his family is wearing him down. For the future of the club I hope some fans move on and concentrate on other things rather than his family. I use the word attack but appreciate that may be a stronger word than others agree with
Yes the criticism has gone too far in some quarters but if we have to get drawn on money invested - what about the fans who have devoted their life and much of their income to following Barnsley? I'd say that is an investment that demands equal respect.
I'm guessing he and/or his family read this forum then - a lot of the time it's been brought up 'tongue in cheek' to an extent, but I suppose the casual browser of this forum (not knowing the personalities on here) may take it differently. I think it would be beneficial for everyone to shut up and move on where it concerns these things around James and John Stones, it's like a sh*t that won't flush...although we shouldn't drop the scoreboard issue  It's been ordered --> ordering a bigger one --> not having one now 'cos it's too windy.
If anyone has abused any of the Crynes its ****ing disgusting. Majority of fans feel as I do from what I see. That family saved and funds our club. Do I agree with everything they do? No, definitely not. Sometimes they prove themselves right, sometimes otherwise. However they do everything in the best interest of our club. Without them there would be no barnsley. We need to weed out a minority of fans. And it is only handfuls, at worst a couple of hundred, of brain dead morons. Those that think it's ok to abuse the likes of the Crynes, those that kick in seats, those that cause aggro and believe hooliganism is 'ace' because their dad did it in the 80's and they watched the football factory. The club need to have zero tolerance with racist, abusive or violent elements within the club. This will make it more pleasant for not just those keeping the club afloat but 99% of the fans that go. Even on here we have 1% of idiots. Those that credit our idiot element with creating "atmosphere" and condemning the rest of us "boring" fans. Well I for one am happy to be considered boring as I don't scream abuse and kick in seats if it means we get rid of the idiots. I go to watch the football, family and work allowing. I couldn't give a monkeys about whether we have a "pwoper nawttty" element supporting our club or not. In fact I would be far prouder of our club if we could say we had no such element. Just good, honest, respectful fans.
