Sums the BBC up - ask you five ambiguous questions then pigeon hole you along with other people who happened to give the same answers to the questions from a particular part of the country.

Can't get much more scientific than that - Just like, "oh you're 16-30, you must love Radio 1 and BBC3".

    Eilean Siar.

Had to look it up again. It doesn't look too bad from the pics I found.

Eilean Siar. Is the Gaelic name for the Outer Hebrides. Never been there myself but I'd say the quality of life would be not too bad.

Never been anywhere up your way. But I am told by loads that it's well worth it. Mrs wouldn't see the appeal or the kids. Maybe one for later in life when I can trust the lads not to trash the house throwing a party. :)

Thing is mate a lot depends on what you like doing. If fishing, bird watching, peace and tranquility and drinking whisky is your thing then I'd say the outer Hebrides could be for you. But no need to travel that far to appreciate what is on offer through out Scotland.

Same for me, it is apparently the most desirable place in England to live according to 'a' survey. House prices are seven times the average wage. Don't think I'd like it there!

Replace fishing and bird watching with scenery and history and that sounds ideal.

Probably why we enjoyed Ripon and fountains abbey. Then get hammered at night lol

Oh yes scenery would be great there and history to go along with it. Isn't the Monastery where John Smith PM is buried there? Iona was it not?

The series Coast would be well worth watching for more information.
