Nou Camp to host Copa Del Ray final

So on 30th May the Nou Camp will host the Copa Del Ray final between Barcelona and Athlectic Bilbao.
As their ever been a final of a important cup competion played at the favourites home ground before?

 

Can only think of Bayern vs Chelsea which Chelsea won a few years ago

 

Bit unfair if that has just been decided now and not before the actual cup competition starting

 

When Liverpool beat Roma in the final of the European Cup in 1984 it was held at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

 

I think the UEFA cup final was held at one of the finalists ground a couple of years ago. Can't remember who now though.

I think European final venues are chosen a couple of years in advance. The Nou Camp has been picked for a domestic final... AFTER the semis were played

 

Aye the euro finals are chosen well in advance. For them to choose the nou camp after they know barca is in the final is a bit of a joke tbh. Although if they avoided playing it at a finalists ground the nou camp or bernabau would rarely be used as 1 or both are normally in the final.

 

Both clubs wanted the Bernabeu, but Real Madrid refused to let them play there. So Athletic Club Bilbao agreed to play at the Camp Nou, because of the capacity.

Although having said that they were twice losing finalists in the FA Cup.
