    Seems like old habits die hard, the pride of England getting a friendly abandoned back in the day against Ireland. Same old sh#t why I would never go watch England next summer, and why I rarely go away with Barnsley, brain dead EDL scum spoiling it for everyone.

    Please don't take this the wrong way but did you follow football in the 70s , 80s

    When racial chanting and hooliganism were the norm

    Today it's few and far between but strangely people refuse to go to football matches when it's much better than before

    Not a dig this post in anyway just curious

    The games I went to in the 1980s I would have been too young to notice, home games only though and I didn't see any bother. But to some extent, what does it matter what happened in the 1970s and 80s? I'm not comparing what happened in the past to my own experiences. I've seen enough unpleasant incidents of racism, bigotry and violence first hand following Barnsley and England thanks.

    I don't agree with racism and hooliganism but I wouldn't stop going to football because of it

    I see more violence on a Saturday night on Wellington street

    Always going to get a minority like you do in every walk of life

    I think we should ask, what motivates people to sing that song, in Italy, 15 years since the IRA put down their weapons? It just seems so irrelevant. Oh I know we still get the dambusters theme tune hilariously pumped out by some deedah brain donor still over 70 years since the end of world war two so I suppose it's par for the course.

    Maybe some people are a bit more proud and patriotic about the adversaries their country have had to overcome in the past than people like you who just moan about what songs fans who attend games sing.
