Those of you who used to frequent the White Hart/Maceys will remember Gary working the door. Big reds fan, I think he ran the Maceys supporters buses. RIP big man
He loved our fake ID's back in the 90's "what the fcuks that young un? At least cellotape back down when you've finished changing photo..." Still let us in.
Dear me, sad news, top bloke always had time for people, not really the sort of person you would think was the door man type, but he was shithot at it, one the first bouncers I saw try sorting trouble out with firm words first , instead of hard fists, now they all do it that way or try to at least, when he worked on door of kabab shop waiting for mi food talking BFC was best bit of the night RIP Gaz, my thoughts are with his family and friends, and they'll be a lot of the latter due to the type of bloke he was
Had some top away days with Gary and some cracking nights out on various trips up and down the country, top bloke and will be sadly missed. Condolences to Sheila, shaun( row 11 ponty) and the rest of the family. R.I.P big lad.

Very sad news this morning, unconfirmed but I've been told he had a heart attack in Blackpool whilst there celebrating his wedding anniversary (don't hold me to that though, you know how rumours get around). Had many a trip away with Gary following the reds, and those who mention his 'doorman' days are right, always tried to sort things with a word rather than a fist, top man, RIP big lad
r.i.p big gary.........a great and fair man..........had many a trip with him to watch our beloved tarn.............trips to newcastle, liverpool, tivoli,s in rotherham from maceys were legendary..................stand the door in heaven and only let us barnsley fans in............god bless you mate........
Went on a few of the buses he arranged a good few years ago, also was one of the bouncers in town I remember most as he was doing the doors when I first started going out rounf town when I was around 17/18, just over 20 years ago now. Nice fella. RIP
Played with him for Doncaster rd junior school football team. He played for Barsley schools as well. Great keeper in more than one sense, and could have had a go at turning pro but I don't think he could be arsed. Got his first doorman job at Changes at about 17 years old. Good memories of growing up with him as a mate and near neighbour. RIP big un.
Grew up with Gary, not only was he top lad he was a top top keeper, could/should have gone on and played pro. Rest in peace Gary
