    My Uncle ran the Dove at the time always gave a nod or a wink seemed like a good bloke .

    I am a few years younger than Gary but played in the same team when I was 8, our kid was in the same team, won the league that year

    Yes we did. still got the medal. Phil Martin Chambers presented us with the cup. Have you still got that photo that your sister took of the team in the green and yellow boxed shirts on St Josephs pitch. If so I want a copy.

    although I live out here in Selby I often travelled away from either outpost or o'dwyers and Gary always made us feel welcome and sorted me a ticket out. A true gent and a sad loss for his friends family or people like me who only met him a few times going to the match. Thoughts are with all that knew him and I'll be having a beer or two in his honour this evening that's for sure!

    Sorry pal not seen that photo for years, our kid might have it somewhere, he's got all the old photos somewhere, I know there's one knocking about with us all on the stage, Think old Harold Bedford took it

    A genuine good lad he will be missed. A fixture on the Shakespeare and then Maceys. Part of growing up in Barnsley in the '80s and '90s. RIP Gary.
